TFL: Who are you?
Tape 3000: My real name is Nadine Platzek, born in 1984. I'm currently working as a media designer and live somewhere in North Germany.
TFL: How did you do your way (what were your first steps you made), is your family a creative source?
Tape 3000: We never had a big painter, photographer or musician in the family. But I was always pretty creative and full of fantasy. Unfortunately I have no strong family and just made my own way. So I did also in my creativity. The most influences I got from other artists, friends or experiences I made.
TFL: What is your personal motivation?
Tape 3000: My fiancee.
TFL: Where is your start, where your ending? (Where is up, where is down?)
Tape 3000: I begun on April, 25th 1984. And then I've never known how to end a picture, how to end a song, which colour I should add or which note is too short. I still don't know when something is complete or finished, but thats how it works to get better and better, I guess.
TFL: Are there any hurdles, that bar you from working? Any limits?
Tape 3000: Just tiredness, no ideas and my fiancee keeps me away from work. My fiancee is the most important person in my life and I would stop working just for him.
TFL: 3 words that describe you best!
Tape 3000: Nocturnal, creative and shopping-queen.
TFL: Fast- or slowlife? Colour or b/w? Analog or digital? High or deep? Bright or dark? Eyeliner or edding?
Tape 3000: Actually I hate too much decisions at the same time.
TFL: You spent a long time in Sweden, are you still there? What have you done there? Which influences and experiences you won?
Tape 3000: No, Im came back to Germany in the end of August 2007. I lived and worked as an Au Pair for 8 months in Sweden, Västra Gotland. I stayed in a pretty nice and lovly family with two children. I had my own little house, right next to the family. They live on a hill with an amazing view down to the ocean and everything look just like in a beautiful postcard. Altrough I stayed just for 8 months, I learned more about myself and life as I ever did before. Of course I learned a new language, met interesting people and got to know swedish culture. I learned how to take care for children, be together with them and be an important person in thier life. But the main thing I learned is how to to appreciate life single day. I enjoyed the time with the children so much and they taught me more about life than a wise old man could do. I definitely got more open minded, self-satisfied and determinded.
TFL: You're a designer, photographer - What was your intention also start running in music-business?
Tape 3000: Well, unfortunatly I never learned to play an instrument, but I am addicted to listening to music and dreamed to create my own stuff someday. So I did. As I lived in Sweden I thought it might be the right time to start a new project. I lived in a pretty small village of 300 people and there was no one in my age. Just older people, middle-age and children. It took 2 hours by bus to travel to Gothenborg and I couldnt go out at every weekend. So I just begun to make music in my tiny sweet house. I got some support by asking people and thats how I also found my big love of life. So it was just the best decision to make music.
TFL: How would you describe your music on your own?
Tape 3000: I have no clue. I mean I don't see my album standing in a case in a store or something like that. But it would be interesting to get to know what a "real music expert" would say.
TFL: Your favourite track of the album?
Tape 3000: My own favourit track is "He", because there is a lot of power and personality in it. I do love the melody I created and the voice samples still makes me get goose skin.
TFL: Does special influences/events exist, that have a bearing on your music or is it more like "sounds fine - it's done"?
Tape 3000: Of course I would love to do it more professionaly. I would love to learn how to play keyboard/paino and guitar, especially to make some music with my fiancee.
TFL: Which programms do you use?
Tape 3000: Reason and Cool Edit.
TFL: You got amibitions in making music more intensely or as a regular occupation? Got reactions from music-labels?
Tape 3000: Would love to do it more professional. I would love to learn how to play keyboard/paino and guitar, specially to make some music with my fiancee. I do not have a request of any labels or producer.
TFL: Which colour describes your music best?
Tape 3000: Actually every colour of the rainbow.
TFL: Does your work makes yur happy and satisfied?
Tape 3000: Of course it satisfies me, when I do a great job and I'm a bit proud of myself. But after I finished a work, it didn't take long, I just think I could be so much better. I was always pretty ambitious and when I wanted to get a thing I did everything possible to reach the goal.
TFL: What are you bothered by your self?
Tape 3000: ;) /That I can't take a break and relax.
TFL: Your purpose for near and remote future?
Tape 3000: First I would love to marry my fiancee and move to him. And in 20 years I still want to be a proud wife of my husband and a wonderful mother. But art and music will always be a big part of my life and our family. I want to give a part of my talent to my children and I would love to publish a picture book of my works. As well me and my fiancee planned to create a story book for children. Hes a great writer and I would add some drawings. I just hope it will be still possible to print books in 20 years. Books are pretty precious. Aswell we want to live in a solar house at the top of a hill at the moon with a tiny libary, a crystal clear lake, a little zoo and a aquarium with different jellyfishes. I would love to watch them floating.
