SPSM

These guys got ants in their pants. The Russian Federation is blowing westwards with an armada of

# Saint Petersburg floating on air,
# SPSM telling your heartbeat what to do,
# take an intermission!
# a flick, called “sofd bassline fingers the cheeky cheep”,
# get on my back and let us dance,
# if you want they can punch your eyeliner and lids to Nepal,
# melting kryptonite to shape midget-swarovsky-figures,
# wake up your sister with a big bang, rumms, ka-ching and kawoomm and
# destroy your make up, boy.

Grab four finest trashy electronic tunes to get your neighbors house shaking and your whole gang into a temper of leaving all mad behind and just dance their last liquid out of their body.

Hyperactive Mode

A few weeks ago Teen and myself get gussied up to be show-stoppers, knock back some drinks with the hoi polloi and let ‘em luxuriate in our savoir-vivre while ranting about all the world and his brother. But because Teen can’t handle alcohol, one beer puts him under the table, I had to represent the crew on the floor on my own. Well, to be honest - I put some beer into Teen’s beer to get the chance of showing my new jumping jack moves and being in the limelight single-handedly.

If you ever wanted to view a supernova - this night was the golden opportunity for you. Not really because of my glorious dancing, but rather of Mitropamusik on the stage, behind the mic, at the tables, his laptop and sundry other noice making tools, behind the bar serving cocktails to the audience, drinking his self-made cocktails, talking to everybody, giving dance lessons to everybody, switching his outfit four times just to take the first one again, playing chess versus himself and selling his CD’s at the entry - and all this at the same time and without any delay. Never seen someone such high energetic on the stage like this boy before.

Mitropamusik breaks the bounds of various genres and reassemble ‘em into his own style full of vibranting alternation. He’s singing, in my native language German, about the swayings of our fast life, about love, desire, dreams, doubts and simply about all the weeny odds and ends of everydays life and snatches all this into a fine mixture of heart touching and propulsive songs.

My car stereo even refuses to spit his CD back to me and if you also like what you hear, you can get Mitropamusik’s latest record “Im Land Der Staedte” right here or at PoorDog. Nothing left to say.

Steel Jacket Bullet 101

We’re always running! Not because we get hunted by troops of screechy groupies & their screeching mommys - that’s our standard business. We keep running to detect all that magnificent music stuff worldwide, ere it’s even written down and produced, to swagger about in front of our groupies.

Sometimes we run that fast we overtake ourselves. But yesterday a bullet got ahead of me just at the moment, while I was running and wanted to give my “overtaking myself” a paddywhack on the head. Instead of that, this missile gave me, my “overtaking me” and also my “overtaking the overtaken me” a heavy wham in one go. Hard to beat.

Launched was this bullet by our trigger-happy friends of Dada Yakuza, who we just call HARD BANGERS. We advise you to wear a Kevlar vest while listening and never point your headphones at anybody unguarded if you don’t want to strike ‘em down. This track is a weapon for tough kids.

It’s the time of Fyodorov. Day 29th gone by (the date Dmitry hitting the street with a new track every month): Dmitry and Fyodorov run like a clock work, punished some beats, some snares, some dirty distortion and some sofd breezes to another smash, that blows your hair off your head.

It’s the stormy, harder way of hearing melodies, be prepared for a knock-off. With this track you can hail anybody or anything whose or thats name starts with Ddolphins, daddy, Dolph Lundgren, Dennis, deers, Dmitry himself, Dominican Republic, diphtheria, diet beer, Discodust.

Alex Ridha, the 23-year-old, multi-talented German prodigy, wears the cause of a series of musical feats on his sleeves. The most popular project of which he kicked amongst others remixes for Bloc Party, Depeche Mode and Justice is probably Boys Noize. His trademark - crack the whip and don’t make concessions!

Last week he started a real drumfire of hard knocking beats and volleyed ‘em directly into the thrilled audience at the Belgian eletro-music festival Polsslag and nobody avoided of this, quite the contrary - they pleaded for more! Absolutely comprehensible if you listen to this live recording we send over below.

I Push My Fingers Into My Eyes

We never wrote explicit about ‘em but we’ve got a front-row seat since they started to spin spinners, knurl knurls, control controllers and to switch every switcher they can get between their gluey fingers. They spent that much time behind the tables, they melt into and gold-plated cinch-sockets sprouted on their back of the heads. To become version 2.0 they additionally remixed Slipknot and put more brawniness into than these squallers in disguise ever could.

Techno Crew mixes everything with everything - miami bass with Berlin ghetto house, salt with candy, nitroglycerin with mountain flour, Greenland with Australia, Spiderman with Badman - and what you get is everything you ever wanted, if you like it a little abrasively and dance able, too.

Ammunition Supply: Magnum 38
Home, Music, Electro, Remixes, Techno, Mix 21st Apr 2008 // 09:02 pm

Googling for “Magnum 38″ I found some weird discriptions of what his music should be like. Altogether it was something like: sounds a little bit like Apparat, but still some kind of T.raumschmiere with a touch of the Rolling Stones, which also could be metal. Smells like techno-music and looks like something I can’t really identify but might be a zebra. Well…. uhm… thanks!

For me he actually sounds like running for your life after kicking asses in Neukölln! - Like driving with 150 km/h through your city, sliding around while you’re playing Knight Rider! - Like taking your broken TV, throwing it out the window and screaming psychopathic phrases in a language only YOU can understand! - Like getting up in the early morning after a long long night, still having the taste of whiskey on your sticky tongue and trying to compensate your sleep with a package of coffein pills till your brain cells dance samba!

Magnum 38 is one of the finest artists of the German electronic underground scene and belongs to the Berlin based label Shitkatapult. His last LP “Old Europe Strikes Back” is pushing, braintwisting and to a certain extent indefinable because so eclectic. So better get your batteries charged for the following scalding hot live-mix, that makes you dither like a pokemon on sugaroverdose.

I really don’t know why, but the past days my body seemed to outweigh hundred tons minimum and every move went to a challenge. Or I grew old rapidly and my operating system goes to waste?! My energy-level reaches an all-time low! I’m torched!
But this is not the crisis line and so I decided to come up with a, maybe weekly, special column about all kinds of chip-music, ’cause this high-voltage and full of energy stuff is what I need to charge my batteries and you’re invited to feed on as much as you want, too!

And now I want to introduce Yerzmyey from Poland to you. This boiiii started to create chiptune and micro music with his oldschool Timex Computer of 1984, in the early nineties. It’s incredible how “Dessert Eagle”, “Oldsmobile”, “Concorde”, “MicroPacer”, “Hulk”, “Mouton Rothschild” and “TNT” his tracks sound, if you envision that this Timex machine is not much bigger than a simple calculator. But thats one of the striking attributes of chip music - creating great sounds with low-tech-equipment. Yerzmyey - come to my town, tell me how your name is articulated proper and hit me as hard as you can.

Back In The Days- #3: Kraftwerk

If you wanna get down with a real “80’s week special” you’ve got to savor one group necessarily. In a career over a period of more than 35 years, these German electro pioneers have been an endless source of inspiration for generations of groundbreaking musician. Whole music-styles emerged or were influenced because of ‘em and possibly they’re the most sampled band on the planet.
We slobber over Kraftwerk.

In 1970 Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider-Esleben, who had met studying classical music at the Dusseldorf Conservatory, founded the Kling-Klang Studio. Their first recorded appearance together is 1970’s Tone Float by a psychedelic rock quintet called Organisation. After leaving that group, Hütter and Schneider took the name Kraftwerk (”power plant”) and began experimenting with integrating mechanized sounds from everyday life into music.

1981 - Pseudoe makes his mommy happy and Kraftwerk came with their 8th record called Computer World which is presumed to be a forerunner of modern electro and techno music and a reflection on the new global dominance of technology. By now pop music was dominated by synthesizers and drum machines, and the group’s uniqueness and extravagance-status became almost ordinary. But just almost.

It seems to be an attribute of 80’s musican to be ahead of the times. And Kraftwerk seems to come directly from a future society who pre-dated their electronic music to bring it right into the time my/our generation has grown up.

“After the war, German entertainment was destroyed. The German people were robbed of their culture, putting an American head on it. I think we are the first generation born after the war to shake this off, and know where to feel American music and where to feel ourselves. We cannot deny we are from Germany.” (Ralf Hütter: interview with Lester Bangs, 1975)

DJ HELL

Last time I was listening live to Hell it was like “fuck, this man has gone stale!” Tired, unmotivated and lackadaisical he stammered down his set and every children’s birthday party would have been more thrilling. And because my ambition to woo the whole audience to play “hit the pot” or “blind man’s bluff” with me were not very successful, I decided to leave this club ahead of schedule.

Yesterday URB Magazine blowed away all my misgivings by posting a totally insane live recording of Hell at Vagabond (Miami). Even it was an URB organized party and themselves are not sure where this recording came from, they don’t want to hide it and like to share this night with you and us. We’re thankful and Hell is still the bomb behind the tables.

Thrills breaks everything apart

Thrills

He catched us with his “hello”. In fact it was a “hey”, but that does not belittles our rapture. And what we found by scrolling down made our heart beating with a frequency of a first-class jet flight with all that extra extra you could imagine. From finest french vine to lobster from Newfoundland we did not ordered.

What Thrills served us today is a delicious mixture of blasts that makes us flatten our ears! It’s a downright slaughter of hard groaning stormy bass, rough brassbound beats, few cropped hidden vocals and the despaired attempt of tunes peeking through a crack in this massive brickwall. He seem to have the ambition to let you not rest one second, after you’ve chosen to play his tracks.

We deeply dig this Thrills from Washington and are hardly curious whats coming up from him and his new label Stars At Night together with Axcys. What we already can give away is that you definitely have to watch out in 2K8 for a collaborative track with and a remix of Turboweekend’s fine rime and soon mashup of These Electric Lives “Soda Water” w/ Lips Can Kill.

By listening to this young man I remember my love to the harder electronic stuff on high quality, that is truly hard to find these days. I hope he delivers the food to the folk with constant freshness.

Heavy boy DJ S-File from the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen shipped over his new and also heavy mix. We had to order a heavy-duty-truck and 50 strong women to get this hunk out of our mailbox. Drive Into Moon Morning

Neo Filigrante are generating a fresh and new, not really to couch sound, with elements of retro-pop, electro, italo-disco and techno, paired with a lot of extravagance.

Now they come with their new 7-inch Drive Into Moon Morning EP and encase it into a special, dressy and limited vinyl-bag. But of course it’s not the appearance of a record which is essential (hopefully), the main focus still should be on the record itself. And here we have two, somewhat mellow tracks with a touch of melancholy inside which entice you to stare lost in thought into space. Really - I found myself doing so, several times while listening to this tracks.

Wighnomy Brothers

Today we have the honor to present you something special from the city we’re grown up. It’s kind of a rush of memories to our heads in multicolor and high definition and we had to practice bungee jumping to cool down a bit. These boys represent the background music of our younger days, beamed the light that guided us safe home after long, through-danced nights and are responsible for every hard beat-punch in the gut we well-earned.

Ladies and gentlemen, boyz ‘n girlz, chicas y chocos, dames et messieurs - throw your hands up in the air and pick ‘em up again for the Wighnomy Brothers and the first mix CD from the House of Freude Am Tanzen. This mix comes along with all kinds of technical deftness, mechanical handcraft-skills at the Technics-1210, a whole bunch of kittenishly details, subtleties and genre unusual additions. It’s such a delight to zero in on every fineness and the more you will listen to this piece of gold, the more you will discover of it’s attention to the details.

This record will be released on the 7th of April and can be acquired by purchase directly at FAT. With a sense of pride and peak-official we have the ability to bring this Wighnomy-mix directly to you in stream. And now - enjoy the ride.

5. Hawaian Smu

Unstoppable Feadz dating the floor with a new blast on March 24th, crashing with his new cruiser straight into your heads. Ease your pulse, beg for a time machine to beam 12 days forward, press your fast forward button, hang yourself on an TGV and do a lot of crazy stuff to survive next days, if you’re such a hip addicted newyoungrichkid, that is still the loudest yell in the back of every dancefloor, when d.a.n.c.e. is running.

We had a petite prelisten to Feadz’ new EP “Happy Meal” and got to admit he tied in with his latest publications, still proving his blessed hands, he’s laying on a timeline of his choice, closing his eyes and starts glaring, thats what god told us. We recommend lighting all your candles in your room and promise, when you play the track below, they all will be blown out.

images: miezmiez

This boy seems to resist the urge of sleeping, drinking, eating and even breathing. Bark Cat Bark also seems to have no school, no job, maybe no friends and hangs around in his basement with several pets and Rolands, Clavias and Linns.
Rumors are afloat he’s only eating dust and drinks his own tears to never leave the room. I heard that in Britain the sun shines just 1000-2100 hours a year. This seems to be the best way kicking up one remix after the other. Currently he sent out an invader trying to occupy your state with a mashup of “The Prayer” reminding of 1998 and forces technoheads getting their asses on the floor while Bloc Party is running.

David Carretta

After he seems to be like swallowed by the earth, David Carretta shows his vitality by kicking almost a half-dozen remixes at a single blow. He remains true to himself and is still representing the dark and hard aspect of EBM-music. This is inherently recognizable by taking a view on the artists the remixes are made for. All of ‘em are like a lead weight and rumbling a lot. Anyway - sometimes it’s not half bad to get one on your kisser.
