Odio

A silent mail slipped onto our drive a few days ago. Should’ve been already posted, but we needed some moments to dive into and had it running several times through our mega high-rise subwoofer in our blazing hustler-rides with the lime-green sub-lights. We even got no link to link to. Who is this guy?

Super 8

Kid Chocolat the second: After showing you the single projects of Kid Chocolate, I got the chance to listen to his new album “Super 8″ which is based on a collaboration with filmmaker Pascal Greco. The idea of working as filmmakers and producers together to create an album that reminds of a soundtrack was successfully solved.

Actually the new album is very atmospheric and relaxed. Film-lovers will find here and there some sounds that will remind them of movies from the past and collectors who are trying to fill the needless room of their flat with cds, vinyls, transformers and nintendo games will enjoy the paper package, that also includes a poster and DVD. Wise scientists told me that there will be no CD-players in the future. So do something against the global warming. If you’re no member of Greenpeace, you could at least get yourself the new “Super 8″.

DLake

I had a huge break of this track for years, after pressing it a million times through my headphones. The easygoing mood of Royksopps shivering jewel “Remind Me” is one of those tracks you can listen to in any moment:

# improving your myspace code.
# dating the street at night.
# hanging at home with your wife.
# while shoplifting.
# preparing party-accessoires with your gay friend for the club tonight.
# touching the bouncer, that millisecond long moment you should think about, what mistake you made, before your face gonna start hurting for days.
# beg the innkeeper for a second milk.

DLake made me to get the feeling of past days again by crashing over that lovely tune, put a smile on my lips and made me to show my sofd side again.

Hello people (and robots) of the universe!

Prepmode here with an installment of music for your listening pleasure. In this episode, you will find a remix of Goose’s “British Mode” along with a couple of other tracks produced whilst traveling back and forth in my time machine. For those of you who don’t know me, I am a human from the USA who has been DJing many years and was a 3-time DMC regional finalist (for those of you who follow other DMC Turntablists like A-Trak and Klever).

Peace and humptyness forever.
prepmode

We do not want to hide such beautiful words, making us smiling! And guys using the word humptyness are saved to the deepest bottom of our bodies.

Prepmode’s news are blasting enormous. These tracks should be the new young member of your gang, the one doing all that idiotic stuff you don’t dare, taking the biggest man in the club, stealing his drink and his wristwatch and got a smart mouth all day.

We Can Fly

Aren’t you ever wanted to be able to fly, too? Leaving the place where you’re at by simply spreading your arms? Soar into the air only by the power of your mind? Fly as high as you want and as far as you can every time? Wouldn’t that be delightful? Watch the teensy people on the ground bustling around like ants and you, high up in the sky, are free from all that noise they make! Awesome…

Of course we only can fly as high as we can jump, but sometimes it’s like someone freezes this moment of being weightless for you so that it feels like taking ages. In this moment of “time is nothing” you should listen to Vega Revolution from NY, because their music seems to be created only for this! Their airy tunes and vocals must have its origin in this single moment when you jump up, reach the highes point, think you can fly, think you can touch the sky, feel free and time stands still. Nothing else matters.

My Little Droid Needs A Hand

There currently seems to run a huge web discussion about unauthorized music-sampling and even worse music-plagiarism. Inchoated at mister “I have a finger in every pie” Timbaland across dozens of fewer noticed musician up to heavy blogged Crystal Castles - all of ‘em have to take a lot of flak because of their abyss of ignorance towards the work of other musican. I can only call it ignorance when anybody is making use of anyone others work without his knowledge or approval - nay to pass off this as his own work! Well, of course a lot of producers are using samples - but usually they’re authorized to or they go about it a bit skilfully and unobvious.

Because they get all my eager support I can give and because it’s most up to date, I want to come up with a theft of tunes of two of the first chip-tunes-artists I was ever listening to - Covox and Lo-Bat. These two guys have massively influenced the whole chip-tune scene and even beyond. And now these freaks of Crytal Castles are coming and screw up explicitly Lo-Bat’s track “My Little Droid Needs A Hand” by simply adding some beats and a geeky braying. All this without any agreement of Lo-Bat.

One time isn’t enough so they used some beats of a track by Covox for another track of their own. This is something I can’t approve of. And even Crystal Castles are now saying they want to ask Lo-Bat for his agreement, they didn’t something of that kind before the story got found out and passed off everything as their own at myspace.

Rewind

Buffetlibre’s project Rewind emerges as an auspicious affair. The spanish hustlers blasted two new 80s covers around the corner.

This time ultracorrect Mr Miyagi edited Men without hats’ flamboyant “Where Do The Boys Go” (1984) into a sensitive piece of glam and Csk Ok stumbled over a supersoft classic: Marietta with “Destination Unknown” (1986) taking you on a trip to a taintless spot of heaven on earth.

Enough metaphoric claptrap, feed yourself and give Buffetlibre some feedback, if you dig or not.

What we remind, when we think of the year Oh-Six:

# Mozart celebrated his sweet 250th birthday in Vienna. I claim, I was around.
# We’re 6.5 billion peeps on earth, are we all brothers? Do you feel sad, cuz you’re one amongst many? Should i rename myself? Teen Billionaire? The boss of China?
# Slobodan Milošević left this planet.
# Montenegro got an UNO-account! You think to vacation over there? We highly recommend that!
# You were bored at the Soccer-World-Cup, cause you hate that game?
# You were fulltime drugged up at the Soccer-World-Cup, cuz you ain’t got nothing else to do?
# You got stabbed at the World-Cup, cuz you ain’t got nothing else to do or you stabbed at the World-Cup, cuz you were too drugged up?!
# Cory Lidle paid scant attention!
# Cory Kennedy is It?! The It? Vincent Gallo’s daughter? Mark Hunter’s wife? Aoki’s roadie?
# Steve Irwin dated a ray.

What do you remind when you think of two years ago?
Should we do not write like it is 2 yrs before?
How do you feel by thinking of 2006?
Do you fancy that we’re so fast it is already October in our cypher?
Do you think we should write about 2007, instead of 6, cause 2006 was absolutely uncool?

Far north based boys of The State of Floral Beings are really a motley crew of weirdos. Or how would you describe five adult boys daubing their faces in animal style and creating music that sounds like something between “high-speed pursuits with Super Mario though fields of somersaults” and “getting nightly phone calls by the man in the moon who wants you to do his job”?!?

In Sweden these animal boys are well known and still rocked every zoological garden from Malmö up to Luleå with their elektro-punk-rock style. Second in a row this Sunday to prove our fondly creaminess and our dovelike side are The LK from Malmo, Sweden, who blast our taintless souls into a mood to addict to all what happens around us and let it passing by.

These northern folks are known for their hardheaded glittering behavior and so their glowing airy way of confronting listeners to lose all their burden. The typical LK song is both gradually mind-invading and comfortingly direct, they make us hungry for more of their actinism. Keep your eyes - if you dig them - for their 11 tracks strong new-release “Vs. The Snow”.

The Atomica Project

We try something completely different this Sunday: We want to go along to an easygoing sunny day today by supplying you with invariable hardly smooth and dreamy tunes.

First to start up is The Atomica Project, a union of downtempo beats and stunning female vocals, amplified by an organic warmth and generally absent from electronic music. They return with a stunning sophomore record, named “Grayscale”, that dated the street 3 weeks ago. The vocals of Lauren Cheatham definitely sound like a dream and are a very perfect matching partner on a voyage to a unknown place or falling asleep with a person you hardly desire.

If it is too soft for all you hardknockers, we say: we warned you! It’s a cozy day today.

These 4 charming Italian studs from Alessandria suprise with a gem of how easygoing some stuff can sound. It’s like waking up in the morning and not thinking about stuff you do, you know these moments, where lying is absolutely impossible and being ashamed is a no-think-of-it, cause you’re still too out of it and in cure-mode. You know guys with gleamy helmets, in fencing-masks, sweaty weightlifter-djs in wrestlingmasks, a couple to-be in ski masks (we heard they lost them yesterday after a gig), french graphic kids making music and not want to be maked out (for any known reasons), ugly clowns, bouncers with gotcha-face-protection…they all love to hide their faces behind their records and players.

But what about these German animals? Would you love to stroke them? Would you love to pick leaves from treetops and feed them with acacia? Would you prefer singing them sonic lovesongs in a sphere underneath 20Hz? Why do giraffes wear jackets? Do you want to kiss their long strong tongues? Would you break down brickwalls of your club just to let these 18 feet tall kids spin the needle and cut? Do you think they can stage-dive like back in 1997?

In either case you have to feel free to check out how giraffes behave behind monitors and mixers, how wildlife-gangs get the balls runnnig, please the crowd and rumor if Saint Pauli enjoy hot affairs in a zoo.
