2009 Review 7: We Plants Are Happy Plants
Home, Music, Electro, Love, Dream Wave, Yacht-Funk 30th Dec 2009 // 12:01 am

We Plants Are Happy Plants

This Hungarian kid is with us for a lot of months, a lot of moments and a lot of sets: We Plants Are Happy Plants, shortened WPAHP, hanging around in Budapest and kicking great tracks after great tracks. He fully sustained his position in the huge world of electronic/dreamwave/yacht-funk with the gorgeous publications he dropped that year. To name only a few:

1. Sell Your Soul (+ s.e.x.y video-clip)
2. Apollo
3. Bluebird
4. Lullaby
5. Sailing In A Dreamboat

and a million of haunting, stellar remixes of great tracks. His Year Starter Mix is still running on our players since 11 months and we’d pay any price to enjoy this kid live one time. WPAHP got the greatest potential and is definitely

TFLs realest gee of the year and keep-all-your-eyes-on since the big 9

2009 Review 6: Rex The Dog
Home, Music, Electro, Love 29th Dec 2009 // 12:01 am

Rex The Dog

It is rumoured that Rex The Dog is an alias of Jake Williams who had a bunch of top ten hits in Europe back in the early 1990s. Some claim that Rex is a techno producer outta Germany. Others claim that he’s a super intelligent and multi-skilled mutated dog. For us he just was again a loyal companion throughout the year and that’s why we elected Rex for

TFLs smartest quadruped of the big 9

MediaFire: Fever Ray - Triangle Walks (Rex The Dog Remix)

2009 Review 5: Memories
Home, Music, Remixes, Electronica, Love 28th Dec 2009 // 12:01 am

Memories

Responsible for the most mysterious happening within the last months is a heartrending precious sound, combined with a variety of names, responsible for confusion: Memory Cassette, Memory Tapes and Weird Tapes. Ignoring any name & meaning, New Jersey boy Dayve Hawk composes soundtracks of life and inspirations for colorful thoughts. Weird/Memory Tapes/Cassette endues his intransigent works with haunting nostalgic feelings & an easygoing airy topping.

In 2009 Dayve Hawk dropped his Call & Response EP under the alias Memory Cassette, including 4 rousing tracks, that are going to catch your sins, perfectly served with two great video-clips: Surfin/Body In The Water and Asleep at a Party/ Last One Awake. As his alter ego Memory Tapes he made a present to the globe with the Seek Magic EP, consisting of 8 stellar tracks, we already shared 3 of. Both records dated the world on Acephale Records. We give away 2 originals of Memory whatever, 2 remixes (incl. the best Heartbeats-workover ever) and definitely have to admit, Hawk is

TFLs wizard and catcher of the year & served the best remix in the big 9

MediaFire: Memory Cassette - Sleep On The Roof
MediaFire: Yeasayer - Ambling Alp (Memory Tapes Remix)
MediaFire: Grum - Heartbeats (Weird Tapes Version)

2009 Review 4: Metal On Metal
Home, Music, Remixes, Electrotechno, Love 27th Dec 2009 // 12:01 am

Lithuanian ultra-hustlers Metal on Metal dropped a fine collection of hard bangers and the biggest clip of clips in the year. They constantly serve a great quality of tunes and are still the best live-act we enjoyed in our lifes on the dancefloors, even their gig is almost 2 years ago. No one topped it yet. Their glamorous video-clip to the massive cracker Bastard, together with Austrian The Glue Society, is one of the best our eyes have seen, comprehending a great climax. Cuz Metal on Metal never stopped kicking asses, they’re

TFLs MVP of the big 9

2009 Review 3: Don Diablo

Don Diablo

It is told, that he needs no sleep, no drinking, no food, no daylight, no air, no love. It is told, that he is everything, the boss of universe, a master of producing anything with the only help of his own thoughts. He’s the inventor of multi-tasking and ignores natural needs. His hands move that fast, they’re invisible 24/7. It is also told, that you become a tonic keynote, if you look Don Diablo in the eye. Being responsible for 34 blogposts & 54 tracks within 12 months, our mommas call him:

2009 Review 1: Sound Remedy
Home, Music, Electrotechno, Love 24th Dec 2009 // 12:01 am

Sound Remedy

The kid without a face absolutly kicked our big asses in ‘09. After dropping 2 hard bassline bangers with a lot of tuff love inside, Sound Remedy convinced any single part of our bodies with the one & only hymn of the year: Field, plus an overwhelming video-clip. This is why he deserves to be titled as

TFLs impact of the big 9

We’re very looking forward to his first EP, that should be dropped in January ‘10, smashing our guts to pulp with serious, dark and haunted electro-techno-tracks. As long as the Ep will not date the streets and to support Sound Remedy constantly we give away a more ‘fun’ tune for you to enjoy - and of course his #1 in 2K9.

Mediafire: Sound Remedy - Field

Bonus Bonus: SRs great videoclip to Field with 100 female strippers: show

Trouble Andrew

The remix of Trouble Andrew’s Chase Money by TADT crew is already known, but Trouble Andrew himself honestly makes me feel a little hotter and better than anybody else at the moment.

A pro snowboarder & skater meets awesome electro-punk to kick your head and something more. Santigold will agree and if anybody won’t, you’ll get into trouble with me!

See me dancing all night long on the roof of your house in a dirrrrty glitter dress singing »Bang Bang«.

NightWaves

We give away these bonus-bonus-glam-yachtfunk-belles of NightWaves 26 hours after the last NW-post, cuz you’re very very special, cuz December is such a great month, cuz Binary have been with us all year, cuz NightWaves makes spines shiver, cuz these remixes are pure gems.

I wish this would be the last day of 2009 and we could end the year with this post.

Boys Noize Power Rework by MMMatthias and dAi

In celebration of a tough album by a tough kid, 2 gees from Geemany locked themselves into their basement(s) for a couple of XXX and re-pitched the entire new record POWER by Boys Noize. This big happening is meant as a big Thank You to Alex (BN) for being a strong influence over years and a fantastic producer/DJ to MMMatthias and dAi.

He opened the way for the kind of music we love to become.

Product of this love is a jam-packed rad box full of remixes for any single song of Boys Noize’s record, all blessed with gentle arrangements, nothing overdriven, nothing that bangs your hood hard, to not appear more blasting than Boys Noize, who is more than once described as the master of blaster. All tracks are fullyflavored with addiction and devotion. You’ll feel the sparkling eyes of triple M and dAi.

Mediafire: Boys Noize - Heart Attack (MMMatthias Edit)
Mediafire: Boys Noize - Nerve (dAi Edit)
Mediafire: Boys Noize - Jeffer (MMMatthias Edit)
sendspace: Boys Noize - Power (MMMatthias vs dAi Rework) (complete remix-album)
