Boys Noize Is Belgium
image: Sir William

Alex Ridha, the 23-year-old, multi-talented German prodigy, wears the cause of a series of musical feats on his sleeves. The most popular project of which he kicked amongst others remixes for Bloc Party, Depeche Mode and Justice is probably Boys Noize. His trademark - crack the whip and don’t make concessions!

Last week he started a real drumfire of hard knocking beats and volleyed ‘em directly into the thrilled audience at the Belgian eletro-music festival Polsslag and nobody avoided of this, quite the contrary - they pleaded for more! Absolutely comprehensible if you listen to this live recording we send over below.

Alter Ego Is Belgrade

Alter Ego pushed every button they could find. Payed for a round of finest caviar. Rocketed upwards while staying as cool as ice cream. Yelled the name of your mother. Were in a cold sweat. Are in fact three. Did reality TV. Payed for their own show and had troubles to get access. Went to church. Gave away pocket lighters. Are Belgrade.

Daft Punk broadcasting

Solid Goldberger crashed around the first live tv appearance of Daft Punk in history.
They appeared in person on the Grammy Awards yesterday at the gig of Kanye West, performing his “Stronger”, background-dancing and Lemur-punching in red-light outlines. Upset i missed it, even on TV, couldn’t imagine how strong my goose-skin would’ve been.

Kavinsky and Surkin hitted heads

Kavinsky

CTM and Club Maria got it all last night: being bitter stressed, hard tech, punkrock to make someone puke, 15year-old girls showing what they learned in their free-dance-theatre-course, standards, hookers, bad remixes of good classic tracks and finally a Kavinsky and a Surkin that saved the night, as expected. A petite review:

The evening started luckily for Miss Mercy and me by receiving two free flaming tickets. Thanks dr.

After we made it through the rain and hunger we arrived Club Maria. Leonard de Leonard was already banging. He banged from the first minute, no soft or rising intro. So we started to ask ourselves, why the hell he was allowed to play there for over 2hrs, hard undanceable techno and kicked out dubious remixes of Kim Carnes and Wyclef Jean!? Temporarily great Djing, surprising with a track of friend Dj Donna Summer. We would have enjoyed it more, if we knew in this moment, what we’ve got to expect. A live performance of Chrome Hoof was about to happen from 01:45 to 02:45.

I just don’t want to say more, than: all Chrome Hoof left behind was a mixture of: find 6 or 7 friends of you and an epileptical frontsinger, that has no real sex and striked no single note, dress them in glitter and make some random punk rock, where every 4th beat is missing and playing all instruments synchronous seemed to be forbidden. Sorry boys or girls, you made noise and headaches, never music. The only moment we were glad was, when he/she told the audience it’ll be the last song. But never thought this song would last ten minutes. Chrome Hoof brought me back my jaw-cramps.

Finally the K-boy hitted the stage, to get the masses shaking their everything from the first minute. His intro rised the mood by blasting a remix of the CSI:NY – Trailertrack (The Who – Baba O’Reilly) and the A-Trak mashup “Roder” of Kav’ and M.I.A. Not even the temporarily defective behaviour of the system impeded the heat and the ball of dance-crazy flesh. After all got in a moony-like spirit of finest electronic I started to wish this moments never ends. It’s something completely different getting “Testarossa” punched in your face from the man himself and enjoy him playing an overwhelming set, with smashing beats, The Presets, Justice-parts, Tenderoni and melodies, that love to take you on a voyage in a brightshining muscle-car. He’s blessed with a nameless aura.

Sorry Surkin, we had to leave in the middle of your set, that was quite nice and hard, but a little too crowded of breaks and exchanges. Maybe it was not your night or not my moment. But the boy like 18 got feeling, rousing friendly appearance and seem to flow all over the stage…I’d like to have a second chance.
