Animal Crossing

Far north based boys of The State of Floral Beings are really a motley crew of weirdos. Or how would you describe five adult boys daubing their faces in animal style and creating music that sounds like something between “high-speed pursuits with Super Mario though fields of somersaults” and “getting nightly phone calls by the man in the moon who wants you to do his job”?!?

In Sweden these animal boys are well known and still rocked every zoological garden from Malmö up to Luleå with their elektro-punk-rock style. Last week The State of Floral Beings released a new web album called “Total” and you can get it for nothing more than a single mouse-click! Just visit their myspace page - but don’t feed ‘em please!

Steel Jacket Bullet 101

We’re always running! Not because we get hunted by troops of screechy groupies & their screeching mommys - that’s our standard business. We keep running to detect all that magnificent music stuff worldwide, ere it’s even written down and produced, to swagger about in front of our groupies.

Sometimes we run that fast we overtake ourselves. But yesterday a bullet got ahead of me just at the moment, while I was running and wanted to give my “overtaking myself” a paddywhack on the head. Instead of that, this missile gave me, my “overtaking me” and also my “overtaking the overtaken me” a heavy wham in one go. Hard to beat.

Launched was this bullet by our trigger-happy friends of Dada Yakuza, who we just call HARD BANGERS. We advise you to wear a Kevlar vest while listening and never point your headphones at anybody unguarded if you don’t want to strike ‘em down. This track is a weapon for tough kids.

Carlini Pitches The Kills

Remember Carlini?! Remember Carlini banging Ben Mono?!

This time Carlini suprises the spring with a remix for Londons The Kills, washing the “U.R.A. Fever”, crashing onto the street with a canny bumpy beats, a weird pulse to dance to, but definitely a piece of jewelry to ride to work with. Or go fishing. Or hunting. Or lumberjacking.

We Are Foals

British pumping Edwin Van Cleef left another submission for the Foals Remix Comepetition of “Electric Bloom” behind, stepping around as “a different one with more of a danger/alan braxe feel if I had to describe it I guess. I don’t know how those two mix really but anyway,” go for it to catch this soft Uk-Kid-Version.

As extragimmick today Edwin is tempting you with the own banger “Paradroid” punching the teeth out of your cannon, before your mother is calling you to eat up your marbled escalope.

Bark Cat Bark

Our lovely delivery service from the Island Bark Cat Bark cruised around on his delivery-scooter and served a petite exxxtravagant dessert made by himself.

Josh aka the barking cat pleased us with his submission for the Foals Remix Competition of their track “Electric Bloom”, that is still running til May 25th. He mashed this track up in his familiar manner: fleet-footed, airy rock, light-hearted and extremely lively. Go for yourself.

Popular Damage

Our Berlin rockabilly friends Popular Damage from any neighbour-precinct you want, kicking our stereo, to meet them and remind them in positivity!!!

They blast around my house with high-speed bikes and a track making me my head shaking (The Con), rubbing my strong thighs and high heels, dry my litres of goose-skin-cold-sweat with a gruff towel. Grab their tunes and get your ass up to NBI tonight if you deeply fell in love with Popular Damage, just to holla them live, yell at them with your dog-voice and throw all your clothes on the stage. Get into the evening with 3 new tracks of ‘em!

We hardly, steely, confidently of victory, deeply, rough stand behind their back clenching our fists for sweeting heart-warming tunes that have the power to save your day.

The Fire And Reason

The Fire and Reason from NYC are down with their first record release, combining a mixture of rocking flavour and beepy tunes, with a powerful strong female voice, that seem to have the power making the audience scream nonsense and catch single ones losing their will, get naked and rub themselves on the counter.

You can grab it for free if you love to have the alternation and your mind is free for some guitar tunes commanding the Ep called “Shut Up, Dance”. You will be rewarded with 5 blistering new tracks, plus The Toxic Avenger Remix of their song “NME”. The new single “Sugar Koma” is sure to get everyone dancing and singing along “Ooh your candy’s right for my apetite tonight”, a lusty track about eyeing that special someone at the club and whispering in their ear “it’s dangerous what you wear tonight…”

Drifting Away

Instructions manual for drifting away is the best characterization for the sound that Home Video are creating. A terrific mixture of haunting vocals and gentle lyrics carried by the warm vibrations of synthesizer-melodies and an emotive bass.

Home Video are Collin Ruffino and David Gross, transplanted from the misunderstood landscape of New Orleans and now living in the brooding brownstones of Brooklyn, New York. They’ve been performing one of their new songs live over the past few months and it’s gotten such an amazing audience response that they’ve decided to offer it as an exclusive early single from their second full-length album which they intend to finish this spring.

“I Can Make You Feel It” is an epic dance song about love and longing that has a massive, wall-of-sound-y ending that’s really fun for us to play (it’s our first song with a quasi piano solo). It’s also the first song we’ve recorded with our amazing live drummer Jim Orso, who brings new life to the beat.

We’re curious about the full album and invite you until then to drift away with us, a bit…
