Prepmode

Hello people (and robots) of the universe!

Prepmode here with an installment of music for your listening pleasure. In this episode, you will find a remix of Goose’s “British Mode” along with a couple of other tracks produced whilst traveling back and forth in my time machine. For those of you who don’t know me, I am a human from the USA who has been DJing many years and was a 3-time DMC regional finalist (for those of you who follow other DMC Turntablists like A-Trak and Klever).

Peace and humptyness forever.
prepmode

We do not want to hide such beautiful words, making us smiling! And guys using the word humptyness are saved to the deepest bottom of our bodies.

Prepmode’s news are blasting enormous. These tracks should be the new young member of your gang, the one doing all that idiotic stuff you don’t dare, taking the biggest man in the club, stealing his drink and his wristwatch and got a smart mouth all day.

We Can Fly

Aren’t you ever wanted to be able to fly, too? Leaving the place where you’re at by simply spreading your arms? Soar into the air only by the power of your mind? Fly as high as you want and as far as you can every time? Wouldn’t that be delightful? Watch the teensy people on the ground bustling around like ants and you, high up in the sky, are free from all that noise they make! Awesome…

Of course we only can fly as high as we can jump, but sometimes it’s like someone freezes this moment of being weightless for you so that it feels like taking ages. In this moment of “time is nothing” you should listen to Vega Revolution from NY, because their music seems to be created only for this! Their airy tunes and vocals must have its origin in this single moment when you jump up, reach the highes point, think you can fly, think you can touch the sky, feel free and time stands still. Nothing else matters.

Animal Crossing

Far north based boys of The State of Floral Beings are really a motley crew of weirdos. Or how would you describe five adult boys daubing their faces in animal style and creating music that sounds like something between “high-speed pursuits with Super Mario though fields of somersaults” and “getting nightly phone calls by the man in the moon who wants you to do his job”?!?

In Sweden these animal boys are well known and still rocked every zoological garden from Malmö up to Luleå with their elektro-punk-rock style. Last week The State of Floral Beings released a new web album called “Total” and you can get it for nothing more than a single mouse-click! Just visit their myspace page - but don’t feed ‘em please!

2 tunes you may have heard a million times? 2 tunes running in playlists forever? 2 tracks being the glamour of 2007? 2 tunes that should be 1? 3 Is A Crowd

If you mind Italy like we do and you dig these sunny boys and girls with extra-extra-large-sized sunglasses all day, wearing my new collection for Prada and Gucci, attended my courses how to behave most chivalrous at the beach, playing beach-volleyball and hit on all the blonde female tourists from the north, you might be a player to its best. Almost.

The best sniff into the harder Italian scene with lucky beepy funny noises, distorted melodies and rousing beats is, amongst a handpicked upper class of big names, our fulltime lovers 3 is a Crowd.

They got fresh more stuff, that wants to run up and down your speaker, your walls and ruins your brains by blasting funny breaks and chopped vocals with a love to richness in details listeners should feel. Saint Pauli

You know guys with gleamy helmets, in fencing-masks, sweaty weightlifter-djs in wrestlingmasks, a couple to-be in ski masks (we heard they lost them yesterday after a gig), french graphic kids making music and not want to be maked out (for any known reasons), ugly clowns, bouncers with gotcha-face-protection…they all love to hide their faces behind their records and players.

But what about these German animals? Would you love to stroke them? Would you love to pick leaves from treetops and feed them with acacia? Would you prefer singing them sonic lovesongs in a sphere underneath 20Hz? Why do giraffes wear jackets? Do you want to kiss their long strong tongues? Would you break down brickwalls of your club just to let these 18 feet tall kids spin the needle and cut? Do you think they can stage-dive like back in 1997?

In either case you have to feel free to check out how giraffes behave behind monitors and mixers, how wildlife-gangs get the balls runnnig, please the crowd and rumor if Saint Pauli enjoy hot affairs in a zoo.

A remix for (Rough Trade) Sono’s “Always something missing” by German S.O.N.G. was an enclosure slipping in, that made me drool over my keyboard, so there’re cereals between the V and B now, that are jammed. I try to write without these letters or have to copy’n paste ‘em. Or i send for my new Australian Parrot.

Is that a track you dig? Is this something you’d like to criticize? Is this to distorted for you? Is it 2006? Do you crack your whip? Would you hardly listen to, while preparing your face for the night?

Oldschool Reunion

Would you give your arm away for a blasting electronic track like back in y2k, kicking a pulse into your veins, that is accelerating your metabolism, quickens your heartbeat and makes you raving your braincells to climax?

OldSchool Reunion smashed this track almost wordless into our place, where we played some rounds at dice, just not to speak with each other. But playing the Disco Interface made us bloating the paddling pool, lifting some weights in the front garden to impress the neighbor-kids and catching on the lawn for the 1st prize (me).

No vocals are needed, just beats and breaks and a synth that snatches grannys purse. And I saw this track curing lethargy, laziness and cellulite. So if your ass is a little loose today, this is the real panacea.

Hyperactive Mode

A few weeks ago Teen and myself get gussied up to be show-stoppers, knock back some drinks with the hoi polloi and let ‘em luxuriate in our savoir-vivre while ranting about all the world and his brother. But because Teen can’t handle alcohol, one beer puts him under the table, I had to represent the crew on the floor on my own. Well, to be honest - I put some beer into Teen’s beer to get the chance of showing my new jumping jack moves and being in the limelight single-handedly.

If you ever wanted to view a supernova - this night was the golden opportunity for you. Not really because of my glorious dancing, but rather of Mitropamusik on the stage, behind the mic, at the tables, his laptop and sundry other noice making tools, behind the bar serving cocktails to the audience, drinking his self-made cocktails, talking to everybody, giving dance lessons to everybody, switching his outfit four times just to take the first one again, playing chess versus himself and selling his CD’s at the entry - and all this at the same time and without any delay. Never seen someone such high energetic on the stage like this boy before.

Mitropamusik breaks the bounds of various genres and reassemble ‘em into his own style full of vibranting alternation. He’s singing, in my native language German, about the swayings of our fast life, about love, desire, dreams, doubts and simply about all the weeny odds and ends of everydays life and snatches all this into a fine mixture of heart touching and propulsive songs.

My car stereo even refuses to spit his CD back to me and if you also like what you hear, you can get Mitropamusik’s latest record “Im Land Der Staedte” right here or at PoorDog. Nothing left to say.

Steel Jacket Bullet 101

We’re always running! Not because we get hunted by troops of screechy groupies & their screeching mommys - that’s our standard business. We keep running to detect all that magnificent music stuff worldwide, ere it’s even written down and produced, to swagger about in front of our groupies.

Sometimes we run that fast we overtake ourselves. But yesterday a bullet got ahead of me just at the moment, while I was running and wanted to give my “overtaking myself” a paddywhack on the head. Instead of that, this missile gave me, my “overtaking me” and also my “overtaking the overtaken me” a heavy wham in one go. Hard to beat.

Launched was this bullet by our trigger-happy friends of Dada Yakuza, who we just call HARD BANGERS. We advise you to wear a Kevlar vest while listening and never point your headphones at anybody unguarded if you don’t want to strike ‘em down. This track is a weapon for tough kids.

Jack Tennis Private Lesson: How to date best
Home, Music, Electro, Remixes, Romantic 28th Apr 2008 // 07:48 pm

Jack Tennis

Imagine your name is Ian, you’re single, living in a messed up flat together with your former best friend, called Spike, just because he has a beard like Jonze and today is the day to finally introduce your new beloved girl to your way of living.

May you cooked, may you cleaned all that dirt, may you took a shower and arranged everything in a complete flurry. You think about serving which vine, red or white? Sparkling? Dry? Sweet? Does she prefer nonalcoholic? Is she veggie? The moment where to think about: Would you come along without meat or just eating beef thievishly? What will you say at the door? Hug her? Give her a kiss on the cheek? On the forehead? On the hand? Give her a handshake? Give her 5? Kneel down and kiss her ring? Should she kneel down and kiss your ring? Better drug up yourself before and talk about “your former relationships, face-carnival and stress-incontinence”?

One of the most important things for a cushy vibe, as you could imagine, is the right tracks in your stereo. A record player has its pros and cons. Pro: Vinyl is always very charming and if the conversation runs bumpy you have a reason for standing up and loosen the situation by doing something different and let her think about what she said and should say. Con: If you’re successful, impress the lady and come closer there’s always that break after a few minutes. Or you get tensed when the record starts jumping. So why not preparing a tracklist, a burned cd or a mixtape: on the one hand you could choose dolce tracks and on the other - if the whole evening is a success - you got a perfect gift for your half-year-jubilee, you know with the words “Hey babe, you remember that sound where everything started?!”.

What we want to give you on the way: 2 tracks that might find a top place in a tracklist like that, remixes she might not know, have not heard yet by Berlins enchanter Jack Tennis. The Tellier-workover is a self-propellent jewelry, Jack gave it an absolute “black” smooth feeling. The second one is a pitching of Neonman’s “Nightclubbing”, 5 gentle minutes reminding a little of a voyage to the beach in the 60s.

zShare: Sebastian Tellier - Kilometer (Jack Tennis Remix)
zShare: Neonman - Nightclubbing (Jack Tennis Remix)

Tellier says to his “Kilometer”:

“It’s a representation of the endurance and sexual stamina. This song is cold and German sounding, because that’s my vision of the sexual, German way.”

Hum, why not?! Give yourself a try…and if you become engaged send us the tracklist of your mix-cd, we hardly want to publish them!
