Edison
Home, Video, New Release, Electro, Dub 9th Dec 2009 // 06:51 pm

Edison, recently signed on Egadz’ Kid Without Radio Record Label, showing his skills in punching faces with overwhelming fingermade beats, pushing the hardest buttons to send any 3rd class dj of 2K9 back home into his momma’s belly. The clip above is Edison playing the Monome (64 button beat machine) made from a converted lunchbox (EAT THIS!). After Egadz’ edition, this one is the second trip of the Music Made with Buttons Series.

The video was done in real time and one take, with the sound recorded straight into the camera.

Edison will drop his new album All the Information at Hand on Dec 22nd. We smelled on the Promo-Edition earlier and guarantee 13 fine-flavoured tracks in full-effect with HipHop and Dub-influenced beats, that entertain like hosts at the pool. It suprises with great beats, variety and charming richness of detail. A must-have for fans of that genre.

Headshotboyz

The Budapest Hustle, better known as (bka) Headshotboyz, pop a new tech-housy remix into our hood. Cuz Hungary’s hottest Mgmt Ektiv supported a ton of great stuff this year it’ll be on top of our giftlist. We dig Headshotboyz’ works, they constantly surprise with workovers of originals, you’ve never heard of and tough beats, combined with lovely clicks. Feel free to grab the dubby remix for fellow Hungarian producer Stephan Olbricht.

The vinyl release includes remixes by Edu K, DJ Rob 3, João Brasil, Schlachthof Bronx and Consistent. The digital release has extra remixes by Zombie Disco Squad and Sharkslayer – we’ll give away the Sharkslayer remix of Pobum Coco in a special bassed out dub version.

Chewy Chocolate Cookies got blinding fresh news for the www. The wait is over, his “Delicatessen #1″ is finally out exclusively @ Beatport.

A few facts behind “Delicatessen #1″:
It’s the first of a series of releases, called Delicatessen, 100% focused on experimenting. Experimenting with a new sound (more clean, but still heavy), experimenting with collaborations (check out the Cyberpunkers Remix… it’s an absolute bomb!!), but most of all experimenting with promotion.

The idea was to build the hype about the release, “without the release”…without any preview, teaser or whatever. It wanted to be a way of testing “the P. of the I.” (Tiga). That’s why, so far, all the promotion has been based on that 40 sec video with a 1 sec clip you may have seen on Youtube. CCC would like to share with you a 100% free 320mp3 taken from Delicatessen #1.

Franz Ferdinand

Franz Ferdinand just released “Blood”, an album of nine dub re-workings of tracks from their latest album “Tonight”, by co-producer Dan Carey a.k.a. Mr. Dan, whose roots in dub mixing goes back to his time as an apprentice engineer for the likes of Mad Professor and Lee “Scratch” Perry. Originally released as part of the early deluxe editions of Tonight, this new separate version includes an addition track, the dubbed-up version of “Dream Again,” entitled “Be Afraid.”

The iTunes version of “Blood” includes three new remixes of their latest hit single, “No You Girls” from legend Vince Clarke (Yaz/Erasure/Depeche Mode), The Juan MacLean (DFA) and Trentemøller. As a special treat for you, we’re sharing the radio edit of Trentemøller’s remix (though you really should check out the full remix in its glorious 7m 30s version).

Messkid

Like he was raised by a pack of wolves in the Indian jungle, Messkid’s kicking his first original dub predatory. “Wolves” lies in ambush, “Wolves” surrounds you silently, “Wolves” savages you without premonition and seizes you by the scruff of the neck, “Wolves” makes you dance like a man possessed.

In fact “Wolves” is like a piece of raw meat and a call to your brutish primary instincts. Forget all the rules and regulations and act as Messkid’s “Wolves” is teaching you under the rules of the pack.

Hooligans Never Surrender

Here it is, the highly anticipated music video “Hooligans Never Surrender” by Don Diablo. The video was criticized for its violent character by the media long before the official release, after a set video had leaked on the internet. Don Diablo responded on the criticism as presumptuous. Don: “I think this video gives a good representation of what goes on in my head when I am asleep, it’s like a drug free LSD trip for pros. Welcome to the future!”

Enuff videobiznizz, we continue with mp3s. Don Diablo let’s you sneak a peek at what will be on his forthcoming album “Life is a festival”. First, he mashes up album track “Stand Up” for the bootylicious George Clinton p-funk inspired monster ‘’Don Diablo vs De La Soul - Stand up for me, myself and I'’, which you can grab right here (incl. a dubversion)!

UK-based George Lenton just called to say h.e.l.l.o and to ship over a fine assortment of his already BBC Radio 1 approved sweetmeats. We simply helped ourselves and snatched benevolently at his offer of audio-kickshaws that made us click our tongues and whistle amused like a buff-breasted wren.

Here’s a selection of three of George’s sparklers we’d like to warble directly though your speakers now. This is pirate radio, baby.

Max Justus

By now most of you have heard at least a few of the new Kanye West tracks. You probably either love or hate his robotic use of auto tune. This new Max Justus remix of “Street Lights” will make you forget all about what you loved or hated about the original. He takes Kanye’s slow jam and turns it into a dubstep slow burner. Max’s electronics give Kanye’s vocals a new life that makes them feel organic over his glitched out beats. While you have never heard Kanye sound like he does on 808’s and Heartbreaks you definitely have not heard him sound like this before either.

We received a very unusual version of the Kanye West gem “Street Lights” for breakfast and could not leave our hands from it all day. Missouri Kid Max Justus dropped his latest snack onto our table and would love to find his place in your life as well. His remix and his original definitely have what it takes.

My personal opinion I’d like to proclaim - Justus, your version of Street Lights captured me from tip to toe immediately. Would you like to marry my sis? She told me she’s totally into shockheaded guys like you.
