Illustrator / Designer wanted!

Crowd outside: As you can read above in the title we’re looking for somebody quite fit for making some graphics, we hardly got no time to create. In the beginning, it’s just about smaller teasers and animations, but we got a bigger project in nearest future.

So we badly need a boy or a girl with at least photoshop skills (some vector based and flash abilities would be advantageous), who is interested to make some stuff with us. Unfortunately we can’t pay anything to anybody currently, but you’re welcome posting through this blog. This might be not the world, but you’re free to let off steam, run riot and die, if you dive into the style we’d like to run. We don’t care wherever you are, how old you are, just want to see something of your skills and want somebody to count on supplying us with fresh gfx.

If you’re interested and/or got more questions don’t hesitate and email us: music@thefastlife.org

Power Rangers in Action

73% Joey Elgersma-Style,
15cm-High Heel Fashionistas,
schwitzende Mode-Touristen gegen unendlich,
2676 DON´Ts (Botox, Punk Royal, Würstchencroissants)
243 DO´s (Lazy Oaf, panuu.com, Wesc, Reebok, etc.)
Dj Sets vom Feinsten (Headman, Fuck Hugo, Diskokaine, rqm..)

Viva la RIO and Easyjet!

Fuck Rio, it´s hotter in hell. Deswegen garantiert nicht verpassen: The Helping Hounds of Hell.

Project 365

We would advise you now, to take a little time - like Avid Liongoren, an exceptionally gifted Filipino artist, was doing while creating his Project 365. For this purpose he has drawn, the whole past year round, every day one of his little monster into a real photo. Amazing is, how the creatures blend in - they somehow raise the feeling of beauty for the remaining areas of the photos. And - never fear! The monsters are not that creepy - but convince yourself!

Herakut At The Leonard Street Gallery image: Walkandy.net

You know we love art. But today I feel entirely head over heels in love by keeping tabs on the german street art duo Herakut while working together such as the wheels of a movement. For all you don’t noticed about until now - Herakut is the brilliant collaboration of Hera and Akut, who’s well known from the Maclaim Crew. Anyway, it’s just incredible how perfectly Akut’s detailed photorealistic aerosol paintings and Hera’s confusing, but heartwarming and melty style fit together.
Presently they have an exhibition called “Permission to Paint” at the Leonard Street Gallery in London. So if you’re able to rent a jet, borrow your parents helicopter, hijack a hovercraft or try to get control over a train and set forth to London. For all of you this is too reckless take a look at the exhibitions-flickr-photopage. And in addition we send over a nice video of the appearance of “Permission to Paint”. Enjoy watching.

Revolt Of The Mouses
Home, Design, Video 16th Dec 2007 // 02:00 pm

Revolt Of The Mouses

Verliebte Jungs

My Love

Pictoplasma Animation Festival 2007

Lovely Miss Mercy told me: It’s second time Pictoplasma is launching an animation festival, this year, starting on November the 22nd in Kino Babylon, Berlin. You might know them in book-form called “The Character Encyclopaedia“, an absolute eye candy to browse through.
Upcoming weekend (22-25th Nov) they get on screen with characters in motion. Different speakers going to please the audience, amongst others Doudouboy, Studio Soi and Acampante, while having lectures. Your eyes going to be stroked by a high variety of screenings. Get the whole schedule here.
I’ve heard a whole weekend-card costs about 72€, but you can have different single-screenings for lower prices. The exhibition, opening party and performance (by Hanayo, Donna Summer, Martin Hossbach) is in Rodeo Berlin on Thursday, 22nd - 7pm. Could and will be very interesting.

Webpick Issue 12 & Connection Issue 4
Home, Design 18th Nov 2007 // 05:51 pm

New Web Pick Magazine

Webpick Issue 12 is out for a while.
And it’s all in it: If you want it scary, beautiful, disgusting, shocking, clean, latin-american, childish, interesting, with or without sound, business-like, architectural , funny, european, dumb, naked, ugly, silly, colorful, tall, dark and handsome, heartwarming, bloody, excellent, confusing, gleaming, glossy, asian, neverending or whatever, you’ll find it in there!

I admit, it’s a little confusing way to find the free issue, but i give you the shortest route to success:
First klick to reach magazine page is here. Then all you’ve got to do is mouseclicking on the bigsized orange-dominating image on top and choose english/chinese, pc/mac - version. Don’t be skeptical to the exe-file. Virus-scan it, if you want. It won’t destroy your motherboard or whatever.
If you had the heart to complete it, Webpick rewards you with stuff you never have seen before.

Connection Issue 04 Made in Germany

If you haven’t have enough, “Connection Issue 4 Made in Germany” is out since 2 days. Click here for a free version by registering yourself (for free as well). I thought about giving you an account here, but was afraid somebody would change the password, so it’ll be useless. But it’s great to check what’s around in Germany right now. And better: if you have the heart again, you’ll see a variety of pages of the agency i am hanging around all day.

The International pt. 2
Home, Design 1st Nov 2007 // 06:00 pm

Havec
Dropping into the game today to continue yesterday with »Havec«, hanging around in bordeaux, france, serving great drawing, cut-outs and illustrations with a big smile. Warm up the scrollwheel on your mouse or go ahead by pressing space on Havec’s folio.

Dgph
Click through, play the navigation screen, check the page, play the download-part to see what you can get. All in all it’s a great voyage to Argentinian »Dgph«. Don’t miss to throw an eye on “Do it you mole”.

Tofu Lines
I think »TofuLines« did so vegan past years they became insane. Don’t know what else to say.

Gaston Caba
Maybe »Gaston Caba« is wearing a poncho, having a moustache and is sleeping from 12-2pm. I think the rest of the day he’s a quite nice guy with a soft voice, who loves to invite you in his finca showing you very calm what he did last evening. I just speculate.

Luis Andres Reynoso
It’s not much what Luis A. Reynoso is showing, but i really dived into the way he’s swinging the acryl.

The International pt. 1
Home, Design 31st Oct 2007 // 06:00 pm

Ice Cream for free
Without any big intro i’d like to share with you, what made my eyes busy today. First up today is »Ice Cream for free«, a young berlin-based agency, mainly concentrated on print design. I really like their vintage-choice-of-color, their usage of textures and presentation, making me feel like in the 60s GDR.

Michael Slack
»Michael Slack« is a gleaming number in illustrations for a variety of magazines and a horrible sweet child-book-illustrator, appearing spooky and funny together. I deeply commend slipping through his folio.

Sauerkids
»Sauerkids« got so much stuff to see, it’s possible losing the overview what you already clicked and what not. I don’t like the page, but i like to see how they vectorize.

Lennard Schuurmans
Next up is Netherlands »Lennard Schuurmans« coming towards very great in drawing and painting. Slip through his panoramic viewing page and enjoy his colors.

Colorblok Inc.
If i’ve got to guess i would say Middle or South America will be the place where »Colorblok Inc« is located. I am so flashed of their tiny little pop-up-portfolio-page, showing up glitzing with colours, funny with illustrations and so cute in motion. Their 2006er Reel kicked me.

I will continue »The International« tomorrow, because: “Sharing is caring” (F.Frede, 2006)

Speakerdog!
Home, Design 30th Oct 2007 // 09:16 pm

“Speakerdog stands for peace and love! and you?”

The Scandinavian
Home, Design, Photo 25th Oct 2007 // 04:27 pm

The Scandinavian Aurora

To find some scandinavian designer or photographer wasn’t that easy like yesterday the french. Maybe i was a little too spoiled of our western neighboring country. But i found one designer and 2 photographers i’d like to share.

First to come is »Andreas Pihlström«, who’s a swedish mixture on his portfolio of graphic and photo or photos that could be graphics, or less a quite base for graphic working. Or click his blog for a little more. It’s not that much, but a worthy right-click on your mouse.

»Kimm Saatvedt« seems to be more the staged-snapshot-photographer, who definitely took longer, than you think by first viewing. I like his fullscreen-portfolio and many of his photos.

»Knotan« is more into portrait-photographs, but his way kind of banish anybody seems to be very interesting. View the 96 photos on his website or 4 more images i found on ponyexpress.

A little younger. A little more street:
Dokument Förlag from Sweden coming with »1207« book (the police-code for damage to property in Sweden), Portraits of Stockholm. In this book, the artist decided the location of getting shooted and documented. Some directly on the crime scene, some home, some in a club, it’s like weapons of choice. The photographer Torkel Sjötrand impresses with technique and composition. It’s not all about the works of the artists, it’s about the artists themselves. Good or bad is a decision on your own. But the atmosphere of the book is able to capture. You can read and see a little more here.

Aneta Bartos

Pseudoe Silhouette

Teen Millionaire
»Sherlock Holmes. But today i just can’t detect which great choice Aneta Bartos did, when she decided which technique she wants to use for live-editing her photos or rework them. It’s such a great assignement of blur. But that’s secondary. Aneta Bartos makes me feel like stuck in the 20s. Nearly fullest prevention of technology. If the effects occurs live-by-shooting i would guess: vignetted milk glass or soft-focus. Someone’s got a hint? Is it important, it’s amazing on it’s own.«

The French

The French
image:Dirtyday

Friendly appearing »Soleil Noir« is a young agency from paris, founded in 2000. They seem to have fullest control over bright shining graphics with a breath of glitter, pedantic into the finest part of flashing web pages with love and showing up themselves fresh and handsome in a Parisian Loft.

The Portfolio of Thomas LeCourt needs a little time to load, but i was that overwhelmed after the loading process completed. Such a variety of fondly designed images. Pure heartwarming.

It’s very confusing that many french portfolio-pages of graphic designers are under construction. »Cuypi« is one of them as well. But you can have a petite view of one track he did on his page, that is coming soon and dive into his graphic works via his blog.

How funny is thinking about how this french woman saying her name to a person, when she introduces herself: ChnoukiPoutsie. She uses her myspace-profile sharing soft pastel-graphics with readers and surfers. Furthermore you can see via GingerLily what she did for this online-store.

Some stuff is so cute, it seems French were born for sustentative graphics, in shortform to get through.

Don’t worry, be »Apy«.
The Blog of »Lucie Brunelliere« showing up some impressions of her activities.
Watch this nice comic-graphic-style of »Last«.
Get into the world of »Pandaluna«.
»Mapple - Sketches are such an eyecatcher.
Graphics that strokes your heart and leave a smile behind, by »Magicien«.
The same is »Cib«, even it’s not that much, that he’s showing.
I’ve seen stuff of »Pagan« for a while and really like his gaming-inspired gleaming graphics.
»Hyper Moi is simply great in comic-vectoring-business.
Wonderful artwork made in France, of course. Visit »woltJef«, very nice scribbles.
Nice photografic impressions of »Chez Joelle«.
Last, but definitely not least is »Casa Jordi«. I really dived into his collages.

Designers Open 2007
Home, Design, Leipzig 23rd Oct 2007 // 01:27 pm

Designers Open

Via »Our bees make honey«, I spotted an US-graphic-drawing-mixture named »Jonathan Cammisa« sharing quite nice illustrations in the web with the audience.
He’s coming a little dark and scary, but that might be the reason why »ericailcane« quite quick came into my mind, also known as »eric the dog - Italian maestro of anything weird you can draw with a ballpoint pen«. Damn, what a looker!

Post Panic

Post Panic specialise in film, 2D/3D animation and motion graphics, producing and directing unique projects for the broadcast, advertising, music and retail industries.

Post Panic was founded in 1997 and are located in central Amsterdam, NL. They handle projects in total, from concept to final delivery, ensuring their creative ideas remain fresh and true throughout the whole productions process.

Enough of business-talking. PP seems to be a quite nice flash-homepage, with petite gimmicks if you take time. Let the popup leave a little behind and wait to see what happens. But primary it’s the movies that are flashing very much. 3dimensional great mirages and glamorous colors. My and Detail’s personal top 1 is via: Portfolio - Number 3 - Palm + Other World. The Reel is fabolous, too.

If you’re a (Graphic, Motion, 3d)designer or producer - they have freelance jobs to give-away.
