Lykke Li

Hustling kid Death To The Throne made a remix of the Kings Of Leon-cover by Lykke Li’s Knocked Up. So many names in one sentence, that’ll bring a ton of (new×young)² readers and (Nike+AA)*ads to our glittering s.e.x.y. blog. DTTT forsees that the internet might burst into flames after that post and ****** will fall out of the sky. Momma Teresa will knock at our doors, shake our golden hands made of silver, before Indira Gandhi follows her to give us guns for free (her true ego is Boss Of Glocks).

Now listen to Death To The Throne explaining why he did that remix:

1st: Lykke Li does not like drums / drummers and
2nd: i get a ton of myspace friend requests from 17 year old girls.

What can also be relevent, are the two things i want in life:

1st: to be Lykke Li’s touring drummer. i can clap and hit a woodblock from time to time. where’s my fat touring drummer check? And 2nd: i want more friend requests from jailbait.

Enjoy The Silence

Enjoy The Silence

Very British all-girl trio Red Blooded Women dared to cover Depeche Mode’s all time classic “Enjoy The Silence”. Originally conceived for a live show for Electronically Yours the response to the performance was that immense, leaving the girls with no choice but to get in the studio and record it with production team “Trademark” (Foals, Chicks on Speed).
Not really a doddle what the girls have saddled themselves with, but they did their job very well and created a fitting and exhilarating tribute to the original! A typical British very danceable electro-pop piece in the vein of highly esteemed Client.

Back-up comes by Parralox, Heads We Dance, Designer Drugs, 7th Heaven and Bassmonkeys who all gave their own personal touch to that girls’ cover in addition. The Designer Drugs interpretation is waiting for you right ahead. But just don’t forget to give some myspace-props to the Red Blooded Women!

WOW

WOW is a delivery service par excellence:

First up is a brand new remix of WOW’s latest single “No Aspirations” by Sydney’s tireless one-man-machine Mailer Daemon, which surprisingly turns the garage-y original into a hand clap heavy, booty-bass banger. The track is already tearing up Sydney airwaves on high rotation at Fbi radio. And next is something very special, as talented Sydney kids Tennis cover Future Ghost, and turn it into their own jangly indie-rock gem. Recorded in the WOW household, it’s a beautiful band love-in to behold. Check, it’s a lifetime-lover.

I Need A Rendezvous

UK rulers and regular guests at TFL-crib Heads We Dance just delivered their obeisance to Buffetlibre’s Rewind2 Cover Project, to German electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk, to Synthpop, to the 80s, to L.O.V.E, to 1100101, to cyberspace, to 8bit, to C64, to heart-throb, to emotions, to romanticism and to any unseizable thing around.

If you attend to such musical heavyweighters like Kraftwerk, who have massively inspired worldfamous artists and bands like David Bowie, Human League, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Alphaville, Rammstein and Front 242 and who also gave direction to electro-funk and Detroit’s techno-scene, you have to be very confident of what you’re doing.

Heads We Dance are confident a cut above the rest and justifiably so. Their superb cover of “Computer Love” is my personal sweetheart this month and still runs on infinite loop since it dropped into my box. My ears acclaim, my heart leaps for joy, my feet fell in love with each other and me grins like a Cheshire cat when they’re singing “computer love, computer love…“. M.A.G.N.I.F.I.C.

Roy G and the Biv

Only a few days up to Halloween, Denton electronic dance pop duo Roy G and the Biv pitched their cover of Rockwell’s “Somebody’s Watching Me” for download. Ignore T-Pain or Lil’ Wayne to sing hooklines on their song, Rockwell is still the frigging King of Pop. Crank that at your Halloween parties and have a ghast! It’s a smooth version, but quite funny-dark.

In Addition, Roy G and the Biv released their self titled 5-song EP back in September and have it streaming in it’s entirety on the space.
