2009 Review 5: Memories

Memories

Responsible for the most mysterious happening within the last months is a heartrending precious sound, combined with a variety of names, responsible for confusion: Memory Cassette, Memory Tapes and Weird Tapes. Ignoring any name & meaning, New Jersey boy Dayve Hawk composes soundtracks of life and inspirations for colorful thoughts. Weird/Memory Tapes/Cassette endues his intransigent works with haunting nostalgic feelings & an easygoing airy topping.

In 2009 Dayve Hawk dropped his Call & Response EP under the alias Memory Cassette, including 4 rousing tracks, that are going to catch your sins, perfectly served with two great video-clips: Surfin/Body In The Water and Asleep at a Party/ Last One Awake. As his alter ego Memory Tapes he made a present to the globe with the Seek Magic EP, consisting of 8 stellar tracks, we already shared 3 of. Both records dated the world on Acephale Records. We give away 2 originals of Memory whatever, 2 remixes (incl. the best Heartbeats-workover ever) and definitely have to admit, Hawk is

TFLs wizard and catcher of the year & served the best remix in the big 9

MediaFire: Memory Tapes - Green Knight
MediaFire: Memory Cassette - Sleep On The Roof
MediaFire: Yeasayer - Ambling Alp (Memory Tapes Remix)
MediaFire: Grum - Heartbeats (Weird Tapes Version)

Obviously, We posted that on 28th Dec 2009 // 12:01 am. Sick!
