I admit: I never thought about South Africa when thinking about music and was never curious enough to check up on my own, what they’re doing down there. Great, that a boy named Ben Rausch shoved over a mail to share his Synthpop tunes with us.

His band Johnny Neon - playing analogue synthesizers - are blessed with extremely comfortable voices sharing with the audience and crash into your ears with beautiful tunes, appeasing the hardest hustlers and strongest weightlifters. These tracks are a gem for daybreaks to get up with a smile and gleaming sunbeams around your head.

Btw: Did somebodys grandpa sold all his holding, did transfer all his stocks and took a no-return-ticket from Germany to South Africa, just because of the overwhelming biota? What Thrills served us today is a delicious mixture of blasts that makes us flatten our ears! It’s a downright slaughter of hard groaning stormy bass, rough brassbound beats, few cropped hidden vocals and the despaired attempt of tunes peeking through a crack in this massive brickwall. He seem to have the ambition to let you not rest one second, after you’ve chosen to play his tracks.

We deeply dig this Thrills from Washington and are hardly curious whats coming up from him and his new label Stars At Night together with Axcys. What we already can give away is that you definitely have to watch out in 2K8 for a collaborative track with and a remix of Turboweekend’s fine rime and soon mashup of These Electric Lives “Soda Water” w/ Lips Can Kill.

By listening to this young man I remember my love to the harder electronic stuff on high quality, that is truly hard to find these days. I hope he delivers the food to the folk with constant freshness.

Round 14 of our weekly gladiator fights. This time we got The Dance Inc. 1st placed. They set up a new highscore in triple-rope-skipping.

With a formidable performance in Chinese Checkers, Revolver jumped well-earned and in a ZZZ rework on our second place.

number 3 goes to Blaqstarr for 24-hour ground-shaking.

On the second 3rd place are Flux Punx for blowing up a hot-air balloon just with their breaths.

And last not least we got Mister Busy P on a great 3rd third place. He get’s remixed by DJ Cut’n Run and still turns on his own axis.

Heavy boy DJ S-File from the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen shipped over his new and also heavy mix. We had to order a heavy-duty-truck and 50 strong women to get this hunk out of our mailbox. Three persons were hurt by the daring attempt to watch at the mix’s gleaming shine without sunglasses. Another one falls apart by just standing around although MOVE YOUR ASS! was written in huge letters outside on this heavy package. Don’t struggle!

Instructions manual for drifting away is the best characterization for the sound that Home Video are creating. A terrific mixture of haunting vocals and gentle lyrics carried by the warm vibrations of synthesizer-melodies and an emotive bass.

Home Video are Collin Ruffino and David Gross, transplanted from the misunderstood landscape of New Orleans and now living in the brooding brownstones of Brooklyn, New York. They’ve been performing one of their new songs live over the past few months and it’s gotten such an amazing audience response that they’ve decided to offer it as an exclusive early single from their second full-length album which they intend to finish this spring.

“I Can Make You Feel It” is an epic dance song about love and longing that has a massive, wall-of-sound-y ending that’s really fun for us to play (it’s our first song with a quasi piano solo). It’s also the first song we’ve recorded with our amazing live drummer Jim Orso, who brings new life to the beat.

If I remember right this is our first post with Russian content. It took me almost one week to slide into their mix, but that’s not a sign for the quality. In the end these 46minutes of your life are never wasted!

I was skeptical, if the transitions are just “okay” or an entertaining variety, but in the end I became a fan of Vitalic Teterin & Alexey Krjuk aka 7he Myriads and their mix “Night on Earth”. It’s not perfect but hardly charming and I am very curious for what’s coming next from these Russians.

By catching that compilation you gonna be entertained with a sensitive decision of chosen tracks, taking part and a cushy, gentle way of merging them into a mix, having much to answer for. Feel love for what they do (I hope it’s not only me feeling it). Go for the Federation!

Neo Filigrante are generating a fresh and new, not really to couch sound, with elements of retro-pop, electro, italo-disco and techno, paired with a lot of extravagance.

Now they come with their new 7-inch Drive Into Moon Morning EP and encase it into a special, dressy and limited vinyl-bag. But of course it’s not the appearance of a record which is essential (hopefully), the main focus still should be on the record itself. And here we have two, somewhat mellow tracks with a touch of melancholy inside which entice you to stare lost in thought into space. Really - I found myself doing so, several times while listening to this tracks.

A little life and a quite relaxing mix: I am down with my third coffee. Currently myspace is dead. It was a hectic, but short week. And it’s an easy Thursday, currently. Almost all stuff seems to be done. The weekend seems to be prepared. The only noise is the dishwasher. The phone did not ran once. Wedding is quite sunny, currently and in my ears running “The Working Majority” of Miguel & Quinten, combining the Sacramento duo Must Not Die, who appeared in the inbox last night.

The mix is coming around quite soft, has the power to run in the back a long time. Me personally takes a time to dive into the remix stuff by M.N.D. The Ryan Adams-workover is my favourite, kind of nice downtempoid, casual and discreet. But go and check for yourself.
