Daniel Dexter

He’s inside bizz. He got game. He runs the Everest. He kicks snares to bass and reverse. He rides all kinds of horses bareback. He lost virginity by 11. He was the antetype for Rumble in the Bronx. He taught Starsky and Hutch how to behave best in the streets. He jumps off a 5 meter diving platform twice at the same time. He is brave enough to ask for beef in a bakery. He is almighty enough to make women look into him to apply eyeshadow. He was the upper arms of Sly in Over the Top. He is the biggest in every preschool group worldwide. We heard he invented electricity and the telegraph on the same day. He furnished the bedroom of god.

As you can see, he’s got a lot of stuff to do all day. Nevertheless, Daniel Dexter (partypart of Acidkids) had a rest for 5 seconds to send us some random unreleased exclusive bootlegs.

Take a look on your casio, tell your bozz (or your employeez) you need a break of mobbing and slide into the real life of Daniel D.

80Kidzzzzz

Yesh, Yesh, Yohrrrrr! Do you want a knuckle sandwich? 80Kidz just smashed over two new remixes with full force and we had troubles to restrain them. This tracks are such explosive, Teen has now to work one-armed and I just have had the good fortune to get beaten black and blue and must check only, if they forge ahead in facial-surgery.

80Kidz are definitely our personal Japan dears and we can’t get enough of their typical rage/force/sex/high-voltage sound. Put these two tracks on your mp3-player, listen to while moving though your city and feel like a hell of a guy.

Familjen and your soul - a tag team on vacation
Home, Music, Remixes 28th Feb 2008 // 10:22 am

Familjen
image: Conny Fornbäck

Radio Sidekick: “you can’t go wrong, the Familjen EP will be massive and make sure you get it before it runs out.”

To take a break from all this stress and hectic rush some days radiate and spread on your mind, your body, your soul, a fistful tunes, that run around, seem to be perfectly matching. Few amongst all seem just to be made to make you bethink or recollect yourself.

Stockholms northern blinking Familien is a boy serving this and all other kind of moods. Magnus from Adrian Recordings shipped down 2 tracks of the happy popper, one remix of Kasper Bjorke, the danish constantly asskicker, pitching you the “Huvudet i sanden” to a dancefloor-tune you hardly can’t resist. Second gem he sent over is an exclusive un-posted remix “by one of Sweden’s most eccentric electronic acts. A really cult band here, that in older days have left their playful jingly bit pop mode and are now deeply emotional and almost introvert. The remix is the track “Det snurrar i min skalle”, the banger, here in a really different version by Pluxus.”

Familjen himself says this sounds like if you have smoked too much weed and just lie there vomiting your guts out, what we are not able to relate to, cause we’re so clean since our birth 16 years ago (yes, we’re both so underage).

Anoraak jumps up, steps back
Home, Music, Electro, Remixes 27th Feb 2008 // 06:06 pm

Anoraak

Anoraak pleased us this morning with a zip making us smile. I really love his name. It’s a word almost nobody in Germany would say anymore. But I deeply feel reminded to my childhood. It’s like walking through my old neighborhood made of slab-constructions, a football under my arm and wearing old Victory-sneakers with hook-and-loop fasteners.

Anoraak, the French sparkler, composing soundtracks to reminisce about the past and let sheltered feelings pop again. “Never Ending Romance Disaster” appears perfectly named to that and The Outrunners mash-up completes the time travel to a land made of carelessness and honey.

He got skills to set up such an intense mood while let the tunes running throughout the day to tremble your heartbeat. His beeps and melodies come around clean and so professional, we wonder what’s about this France. Currently Anoraak is working on some Futurecop! - remixes and good news for all living close by us: He’s alive and will please the crowd in Magnet Berlin on April 4th.

Utah Saints’ “Something Good 08″ (Van She Tech Remix) is going to be the biggest dance record of 2008 - that is what the Utah’s are thinking, so far… they already receiving heavy daytime plays on BBC’s Radio 1 and also on their myspace page - so maybe they’re right.

Thanks a lot to the URB Mag.

Hardmoon - Kessler Syndrome
Home, Music, Electro 27th Feb 2008 // 12:15 pm

Hardmoon

Hardmoon music means the same as the opposite of Britney Spears. The music offers a new thinking about time and energy. The ultimate tunes to download directly into your mind.

I see! The opposite of Britney Spears - and what the fuck does that mean? What is the opposite of Britney Spears? Perhaps it’s a crazy brainteaser we have to unravel!? But really - I have no idea! Can we get a second hint please? Should we turn Britney upside down? Is there anywhere a lost twin sister behind an iron mask and stashed away on an unknown island, we have to find? Is she the opposite of this Britney we all know? Well however, it doesn’t make any difference to me - I dread to think anymore…

The independent A&R agency, promotion agency, licensing agency, talent resource and netlabel FOEM has released a new EP called “FOEM/Crema Vol. 8 - Hardmoon - Kessler Syndrome”. And this somewhat inauspicious record-description, you can read above, belongs right to this free downloadable EP. But you wouldn’t read on TFL about it, if we hadn’t read over this nonsense.

FOEM/Crèma stands for the crème de la crème of FOEM music, and even we don’t know every release of this netlabel, the Hardmoon - Kessler Syndrome EP is really a creamy one. A smooth and tenderly production you might listen to, if you like to get away from it all a little, back out yourself - and don’t want to think about Britney Spears or something else.

Illustrator / Designer wanted!!!

Illustrator / Designer wanted!

Crowd outside: As you can read above in the title we’re looking for somebody quite fit for making some graphics, we hardly got no time to create. In the beginning, it’s just about smaller teasers and animations, but we got a bigger project in nearest future.

So we badly need a boy or a girl with at least photoshop skills (some vector based and flash abilities would be advantageous), who is interested to make some stuff with us. Unfortunately we can’t pay anything to anybody currently, but you’re welcome posting through this blog. This might be not the world, but you’re free to let off steam, run riot and die, if you dive into the style we’d like to run. We don’t care wherever you are, how old you are, just want to see something of your skills and want somebody to count on supplying us with fresh gfx.

If you’re interested and/or got more questions don’t hesitate and email us: music@thefastlife.org

HVY Plastic

HVY-Plastic

If TheFastLife would be a comely young girl, we wouldn’t be very amused about, how many devotees keep an eye on her. Mommy’s and daddy’s hair would stood on end, at the thought of how fast our little baby has grown up. We got this very cute baby, fortunately it’s no girl. So we don’t have to worry about all the love-letters we’re receiving.

Such as the one by Skyler, who likes to have a date with our cherry-cherry-lady. Well, this boy is really into music. Having his roots in punk, rock’n roll, hardcore and playing in a variety bands, he gets thunderstrucked by the power of using software and machines to create music. So he starts to follow his vocation by trying his hand at producing electronic music, with influences from movie scores to hip-hop, heavy metal and electro.

HVY Plastic has the intention to make fun, good, smart music that hopefully could be played in outer space. Oh yes boy - it could! Have a nice eve with our baby, but keep in mind - it’s got to be home at ten o’clock.

This Weeks High 5

Midlake is kicking themselves on toppest number one hundred percent this week, with the unbelieveable beautiful quiet gem “Roscoe” in a remix by Beyond The Wizard Sleeve.

The only truth via Hipster Runoff is our two: Nid & Sancy - M.U.S.I.C. (SymbolOne Rmx)

To best impress pedestrians while stopping on a traffic light, wind the glass pane down with our place 3: Gala - Freak from Desire (Roundtable Knights Rmx).

On four “Health” wanna take a seat and fasten belts with Crystal Castles’ pitching of Crimewave.

The fifth is a well-known tune in an absolutely relaxing brand-new mashup: Hot Chip - Ready for the Floor (Smoothed out on an R&B Tip Version).

Goldie is to rap, what key is to Locks
Home, Music, New Release, Electro, Pop, Grime 26th Feb 2008 // 10:55 am

Goldie

Producing and words juggling girl Goldie Locks got finished her very first single, a double A side called ‘Wasteman’ / ‘Neek Chic’ dating the street on the 7th of April, available on Download and Vinyl.

At the beginning Goldie just used to sing a bit and punched the drums. But she wanted to make beats - she only wasn’t really sure how. Fortunately she found this little college type place called CM (Community Music) who offered production and performance course. And if you ask her about it, Goldie would say, that she wouldn’t be where she is today without CM. They taught her pretty much everything she knows, and hooked her up in numerous different ways.

This busy and high-flying girl avails herself of electro, grime, garage, a bit of pop and hip hop elemtents, puts all into a mixer and gives a good shaking to. And hey, it sounds very unique and typical British at the same time. We hardly dig her beating and spitting: so got on car-park, lean against your flivver and let Goldies tracks (here some more) be your best friends today.

THR!LL$ Hell House
Home, Music, Remixes 25th Feb 2008 // 07:29 pm

Thrills

It’s vibrating, it’s shaking, it’s quaking, it is scary, it propels the kids out of the house, it seperates the wheat from the chaff, it busts your morning-egg into 1000 pieces, blasts the make-up off your face and makes you writing “LOL and <3"-mails to your boss.

THR!LL$ (attention, this myspace is definitely hard for epileptics and cardiac people) started at the age of 16 under the name DJ Aquarius playing house at raves and other underground dance events in Seattle and around the northwest (Washington/Oregon/Vancouver) USA. If you hang around in Seattle all day you might be lucky switching on the 89.5 FM and enjoy The Vortex radio show, every Saturday (8 PM - 2 AM) or load some Vinyl Mix here (direct link).

THR!LL$ shipped over some fine mastered, beefy tracks, that glow in the dark. Test it, we save electricity by playing the “Lil Scrappy” all night on repeat. We could work without switching on the lights, the kids slept so fine with these tracks and we could spend the saved cash for kevlar vests and our new studies (German as Mother Tongue & Stalking). We hope you dig the loony tunes as well!

Rob da Bank

A great every sunday night radioshow I fell in love with, is broadcasted by the BBC’s Radio 1. Presented by Rob da Bank this leftfield show covers techno, bleeps, ambient and acoustic in a smart mix from the UK and beyond.

Last night’s show comes with new music from Shortwave Set, Midnight Juggernauts, Crystal Castles and Hot Chip and as a special delicacy one of this years most hotly tipped artists and one of TheFastLife’s favourites - wonderful Santogold as guest in the studio. Yiehaw. Check this link to listen to the show in stream and repeat how often you like.
