Calling in Sick

Keen boys of Calling in Sick shipped over some tracks last week, we hardly played thousand times since then. They told us, that there’s a lot of new stuff and tracks upcoming soon, they still got to handle to and keep a post in delay.

We think this Aussie band is going to be sick and hot in 2008 and are so curious what’s coming up next, we can’t hide these “older” tracks of them, 2 own and a remix, that are running up and down in our hourly-updated playlist. So you can catch yourself this congenial and discreet tunes, that have the potential to take place in an absolutely danceable set.

Ladyhawke

You might remember Ladyhawke, we already got her here about one month ago with two beautiful tunes, that slip inside your clothes and hide themselves while you seize your day.

A few days ago Pnau from Sydney headed out their new track, together with Ladyhawke, called “Embrace”, showing their 80s skills in a dance-track, that forces you to throw up your arms and sing the chorus together with Ladyhawke and all your friends, after you gave your momma a kiss.

Death Row Archie

We had 3 is a Crowd last week and this time we are lucky receiving a workover of Gang of Four’s “Outside the Trains Don’t Run On Time”. Death Row Archie hails from Boston and delivers here a loving reconstruction of 80’s post-punk visionaries Gang of Four, which comes bitter-sweet and still owns the reminder-function, that enables you returning to vests made of jeans, to mustaches and mullet.

David Carretta

After he seems to be like swallowed by the earth, David Carretta shows his vitality by kicking almost a half-dozen remixes at a single blow. He remains true to himself and is still representing the dark and hard aspect of EBM-music. This is inherently recognizable by taking a view on the artists the remixes are made for. All of ‘em are like a lead weight and rumbling a lot. Anyway - sometimes it’s not half bad to get one on your kisser.

Pizza Deluxe

Pizza Calzone Deluxe

Haha, be an Italian and calling himself Pizza Deluxe is like I would introduce myself as “Mettbrötchen mit Zwiebel”, which would be hardly charming, wouldn’t it? But better get his deeply hardelectronic angry delicious Single-Track with an extra dose mushrooms to dance, yeah!

Mediafire: Pizza Deluxe - Don’t press the alarm

Pizza Mozzarella

Additional we have FunKabit on the menu. A young and also Italian duo that recently dropped their new EP called Discount on toothsome Mozzarella Records. If you don’t smirk a little like we did while reading this name first, we sadly don’t have the same sense of humor. Not that tragically, maybe we agree in our music-taste. FunKabit, for one, are serving a fresh baked, right crispy and still reeky track with chef’s suggestion. Bon appetit!

Clara Moto

Our week starts up with a visit in Austria at Clara Motos house, made of thousands of twinkling little stars. Of course this is spoken only metaphorical, but represents a nice introduction for the way this young girl creates music.

Raised in charge of jazz and classical-piano, Clara Moto found her lane to advance herself in the Austrian electro-music scene. With her feminine and unusual smartness, you can perceive in every tone, she vastly enriches minimal-house throughout. Feathery and atmospheric sound compositions characterize her style - entirely clean and harmonic, but on the other hand very frisky and even a little fussy passim. Clara is a class on her own - we know, InFiné does and you will agree about it, too!

Amiable Julien of InFiné permitted to share one of Clara Motos tracks and an one-hour mix with you. So grab your beloved person and snuggle against her/him - this is what we like to entice you to do, right now.

Kavinsky and Surkin hitted heads
Home, Music, Live 27th Jan 2008 // 07:16 pm

Kavinsky

CTM and Club Maria got it all last night: being bitter stressed, hard tech, punkrock to make someone puke, 15year-old girls showing what they learned in their free-dance-theatre-course, standards, hookers, bad remixes of good classic tracks and finally a Kavinsky and a Surkin that saved the night, as expected. A petite review:

The evening started luckily for Miss Mercy and me by receiving two free flaming tickets. Thanks dr.

After we made it through the rain and hunger we arrived Club Maria. Leonard de Leonard was already banging. He banged from the first minute, no soft or rising intro. So we started to ask ourselves, why the hell he was allowed to play there for over 2hrs, hard undanceable techno and kicked out dubious remixes of Kim Carnes and Wyclef Jean!? Temporarily great Djing, surprising with a track of friend Dj Donna Summer. We would have enjoyed it more, if we knew in this moment, what we’ve got to expect. A live performance of Chrome Hoof was about to happen from 01:45 to 02:45.

I just don’t want to say more, than: all Chrome Hoof left behind was a mixture of: find 6 or 7 friends of you and an epileptical frontsinger, that has no real sex and striked no single note, dress them in glitter and make some random punk rock, where every 4th beat is missing and playing all instruments synchronous seemed to be forbidden. Sorry boys or girls, you made noise and headaches, never music. The only moment we were glad was, when he/she told the audience it’ll be the last song. But never thought this song would last ten minutes. Chrome Hoof brought me back my jaw-cramps.

Finally the K-boy hitted the stage, to get the masses shaking their everything from the first minute. His intro rised the mood by blasting a remix of the CSI:NY – Trailertrack (The Who – Baba O’Reilly) and the A-Trak mashup “Roder” of Kav’ and M.I.A. Not even the temporarily defective behaviour of the system impeded the heat and the ball of dance-crazy flesh. After all got in a moony-like spirit of finest electronic I started to wish this moments never ends. It’s something completely different getting “Testarossa” punched in your face from the man himself and enjoy him playing an overwhelming set, with smashing beats, The Presets, Justice-parts, Tenderoni and melodies, that love to take you on a voyage in a brightshining muscle-car. He’s blessed with a nameless aura.

Sorry Surkin, we had to leave in the middle of your set, that was quite nice and hard, but a little too crowded of breaks and exchanges. Maybe it was not your night or not my moment. But the boy like 18 got feeling, rousing friendly appearance and seem to flow all over the stage…I’d like to have a second chance.
