Cyberpunkers

Today we come with a whiff of exclusiveness because we didn’t noticed that anyone else ever was talking about them in that way like we’re running our biz. So give credit where credit is due - and please welcome Cyberpunkers from Italy.
The two guys started their project in 2005 in search of new and unique sounds. And obviously they’re doing a good job because their style is fresh and makes you move your feet like self-acting. Playing together with two separate but always eclectic and thrilling DJ sets and hiding their identitys behind unique masks Cyberpunkers have fast created their individual sound - “a philosophy of life aiming for a continuous research for avant-garde vibes“.
On our request the boys were that friendly to make some of their tracks free available for you out there. So if this is your music-taste be so kind and buy their records.

2007 Review #6: Rex The Dog
Home, Music 29th Dec 2007 // 05:00 pm

Rex The Dog

My dog eats beats.
Sometimes it’s hard for myself stop hearing one and the same song again and again. And if I have to remind ONE song that touches my heart most of all in 2007 - then I’m just be thinking about a tiny dog that makes me dance around while smiling whimsically. Rex The Dog is the guy and Circulate the track I’m speaking of. I was listening that often to that song consecutively - it felt like being captured in a neon coloured time-loop and everything around became nonrelevant. Especially the promotion piece was a class of it’s own and shows a cartoon instead of the usual crap.
During I’m writing this love-letter you’re reading at the moment, the first “new year rockets” were test-launched behind the window in my back. Even this is not my cup of tea, it shows us the constant oncoming end of 2007. But there is no time for getting sentimentally or rather there is no reason for this. So we’re sending over some Rex The Dog tracks, you will take some pictures while dancing to and send them subsequently to TheFastLife headquarters - maybe you’re in the recall.

2007 Review #5: Modeselektor & Boys Noize
Home, Music 28th Dec 2007 // 05:00 pm

Modeselektor & Boys Noize

Mode Boys & Selektor Noize?

Also zusammengefasst 2007: Modeselektor - HEISS, Autoradio - kein Kommentar.

zShare: Modeselektor - Black Block
zShare: Ghislain Poirier - Blazin (Modeselektor Remix)
zShare: Thom Yorke - Skip Divided (Modeselektor Remix)

Boys Noize

Mr. Oizo and SebastiAn

A pure cosmic, liberating and luxurious highlight were 2 boys from high-frequently mentioned EdBanger Records. On the one hand the head of them all Mr. Oizo & on the other Shooting-Boy without a face SebastiAn. Neversleeping Oizo, aka Quentin Dupieux, cared for all members of the label, coming bigger and bigger, composed a soundtrack album to the movie “Steak” and SebastiAn whacked the audience with a variety of superior delicious tracks, to guarantee you must never have a silent break.

2007 Review #3: Slagsmålsklubben
Home, Music 26th Dec 2007 // 05:00 pm

Slagsmålsklubben image: Natali Olausson

BITTE WER? BITTE WAS?

2007 Review #2: Kavinsky
Home, Music 25th Dec 2007 // 05:00 pm

Kavinsky

The only reason, why

- i leased a Ferrari this year,
- i started french-lessons in adult evening classes,
- drank more red wine and smoked 2 boxes a day,
- exclusively just ate baguette & croissants with geramont,
- started pumping on Venice Beach,
- became addicted cruising my car breaknecking through the sunny mountain roads and
- wished myself a big brother just like him

in 2007 is Kavinsky. The tip of the iceberg was SebastiAn playing the “Testarossa Autodrive” live, the only reason i pushed my oiled glamorous body on the dancefloor, through the masses of girls from villages and boys try to look better dressed up than the femmes. He’s never heard too much! The story behind:

“The first thing to know about Kavinsky: He’s a zombie. Legend says he was killed in a car wreck in 1986, speeding through the back roads of France at over 120 mph in a Ferrari Testarossa before veering off the road and being hurtled through the windshield. Though pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, he quietly got up off his stretcher and left, never to be seen or heard from again…until 2006.”

2007 Review #1: Harrison Schaaf

Harrison Schaaf

We’re starting our year review quite now and publish everyday up to the last day this year about 5pm (Middle European Time) what kicked our teeth in 2007, with a short info to who/what did what to our heart, brain, feet, abs, face, outfit, parents, life, nights, friends, purses and bellybuttons.

First in the row is Harrison Schaaf, stepping out the shadow of standardstuff, appearing like a virtuoso dominator of tables, mixer and the crowd. He released a variety of tracks this year, being without exception a true spoiling for our ears and made our legs and heads unable to keep still. And, uhm, in my opinion he has got the best teaser-image of them all.
Who gives this boy a deal? “Lights Camera Action When I Walk Thru The Door…”

Yo Yo Yo Kids making you have a good time

Yo Yo Yo Kids

Is it going to make you sick, fetching all the same singles, jingles, verses and chorus every year? That pushs you on the toilet or just make you to be in a bad mood, cause it’s running all day in mama’s radio? Maybe you get into beef with your grandmother or start thinking about running-away until it’s late afternoon, go window-shoppin or have a drink or two?

But that’s not in our mind, because it’s making anything worse. We don’t want you to have boozy breath between that woman and man, that made you or you telling your nieces and nephews, that Santa is gay. What we want is just easy as buying rolls. Go, getcha headphonez and boost this on repeat:

We let the baby run, run, run while preparing presents with the ugliest wrapping paper and bows on repeat, boys. You remember their name? Neonfrenz are absolutely likeable, sassy boys, arriving clubs on Bmx’s, pushing away idiots on the dancefloor and jolly djing for the audience. Ratatat

What to say to this name? Who the hell is that? What the hell is that? Ratatat is described as an Indietronic-Band from New York. A lot of tracks of them is more something for hanging around at home with a book or a pipe, or both. But the work-over for The Knife is one of the best i ever heard and that work-together with Spank Rock first sounds strange, but slides inside your dance cells easily. The optimum for weekend.

On friday, Fabric London is kicking it again. With a hot-as-hell line-up, making me a little sad not having no private plane. And dearest James from Fabric baited me with a special set of The Filthy Dukes to stream. And he was successful. We’d like to share it with you by clicking the stream-link below to pop it up and listen without dwelling on the page. Wishing a fine night to 77a Charterhouse Street.

Kid Sister

She is running with A-Trak, she is running with Jokers of the Scene, with Chromeo, Kanye, Akon (Ha,Ha!)…so who’s that girl with that gleaming flyers and colours, that makes you blind, on her profile. Yes, J2K of Flosstradamus is her real brother, and yes that does rule.
Kid Sister is going to make you shake your thing, even if you sit on your thing. She’s out with the hot new track ft. Kanye “Pro Nails” and bingo, a fine time later two soft remixes gently pop on your screen. I deeply dived into the squeezes of the original, but all three are adorable. Ladyhawke

After a hard day it’s always great receiving easy music, dripping inside your stomach like the most expensive italian oil. The 26year old from new zealand plays herself inside brains with light jingles, fooling listeners with new music sounding like the 80s. Ladyhawke appears hard-boiled like Cindy Lauper. She produced everything by herself and she got it all: rolling drums, catchy tunes and choruses that sign a lifelong-contract in your ear-hotel. It’s going to get you, if you let.
