The International pt. 1

Ice Cream for free
Without any big intro i’d like to share with you, what made my eyes busy today. First up today is »Ice Cream for free«, a young berlin-based agency, mainly concentrated on print design. I really like their vintage-choice-of-color, their usage of textures and presentation, making me feel like in the 60s GDR.

Michael Slack
»Michael Slack« is a gleaming number in illustrations for a variety of magazines and a horrible sweet child-book-illustrator, appearing spooky and funny together. I deeply commend slipping through his folio.

Sauerkids
»Sauerkids« got so much stuff to see, it’s possible losing the overview what you already clicked and what not. I don’t like the page, but i like to see how they vectorize.

Lennard Schuurmans
Next up is Netherlands »Lennard Schuurmans« coming towards very great in drawing and painting. Slip through his panoramic viewing page and enjoy his colors.

Colorblok Inc.
If i’ve got to guess i would say Middle or South America will be the place where »Colorblok Inc« is located. I am so flashed of their tiny little pop-up-portfolio-page, showing up glitzing with colours, funny with illustrations and so cute in motion. Their 2006er Reel kicked me.

I will continue »The International« tomorrow, because: “Sharing is caring” (F.Frede, 2006)

24. Video/Film Tage
Home, Video 31st Oct 2007 // 02:34 pm

In die nunmehr 24. Runde gehen vom 01.

Speakerdog!
Home, Design 30th Oct 2007 // 09:16 pm

“Speakerdog stands for peace and love! and you?”

Let the Drummer kick
Home, Design, Video, Word 30th Oct 2007 // 12:34 pm

I used to be a fan of typo-video’s without any storyline.
You remember that pulp-fiction-dialog of Jarratt Moody!? Now it’s Citizen Cope’s song “Let the Drummer Kick” that is typorized with After Effects, done by Artur Dimke // FH Muenster.

The Scandinavian
Home, Design, Photo 25th Oct 2007 // 04:27 pm

The Scandinavian Aurora

To find some scandinavian designer or photographer wasn’t that easy like yesterday the french. Maybe i was a little too spoiled of our western neighboring country. But i found one designer and 2 photographers i’d like to share.

First to come is »Andreas Pihlström«, who’s a swedish mixture on his portfolio of graphic and photo or photos that could be graphics, or less a quite base for graphic working. Or click his blog for a little more. It’s not that much, but a worthy right-click on your mouse.

»Kimm Saatvedt« seems to be more the staged-snapshot-photographer, who definitely took longer, than you think by first viewing. I like his fullscreen-portfolio and many of his photos.

»Knotan« is more into portrait-photographs, but his way kind of banish anybody seems to be very interesting. View the 96 photos on his website or 4 more images i found on ponyexpress.

A little younger. A little more street:
Dokument Förlag from Sweden coming with »1207« book (the police-code for damage to property in Sweden), Portraits of Stockholm. In this book, the artist decided the location of getting shooted and documented. Some directly on the crime scene, some home, some in a club, it’s like weapons of choice. The photographer Torkel Sjötrand impresses with technique and composition. It’s not all about the works of the artists, it’s about the artists themselves. Good or bad is a decision on your own. But the atmosphere of the book is able to capture. You can read and see a little more here.

Aneta Bartos
Home, Design, Photo 24th Oct 2007 // 06:28 pm

Aneta Bartos

Pseudoe Silhouette

Teen Millionaire
»Sherlock Holmes. But today i just can’t detect which great choice Aneta Bartos did, when she decided which technique she wants to use for live-editing her photos or rework them. It’s such a great assignement of blur. But that’s secondary. Aneta Bartos makes me feel like stuck in the 20s. Nearly fullest prevention of technology. If the effects occurs live-by-shooting i would guess: vignetted milk glass or soft-focus. Someone’s got a hint? Is it important, it’s amazing on it’s own.«

The French
Home, Design 24th Oct 2007 // 09:43 am

The French
image:Dirtyday

Friendly appearing »Soleil Noir« is a young agency from paris, founded in 2000. They seem to have fullest control over bright shining graphics with a breath of glitter, pedantic into the finest part of flashing web pages with love and showing up themselves fresh and handsome in a Parisian Loft.

The Portfolio of Thomas LeCourt needs a little time to load, but i was that overwhelmed after the loading process completed. Such a variety of fondly designed images. Pure heartwarming.

It’s very confusing that many french portfolio-pages of graphic designers are under construction. »Cuypi« is one of them as well. But you can have a petite view of one track he did on his page, that is coming soon and dive into his graphic works via his blog.

How funny is thinking about how this french woman saying her name to a person, when she introduces herself: ChnoukiPoutsie. She uses her myspace-profile sharing soft pastel-graphics with readers and surfers. Furthermore you can see via GingerLily what she did for this online-store.

Some stuff is so cute, it seems French were born for sustentative graphics, in shortform to get through.

Don’t worry, be »Apy«.
The Blog of »Lucie Brunelliere« showing up some impressions of her activities.
Watch this nice comic-graphic-style of »Last«.
Get into the world of »Pandaluna«.
»Mapple - Sketches are such an eyecatcher.
Graphics that strokes your heart and leave a smile behind, by »Magicien«.
The same is »Cib«, even it’s not that much, that he’s showing.
I’ve seen stuff of »Pagan« for a while and really like his gaming-inspired gleaming graphics.
»Hyper Moi is simply great in comic-vectoring-business.
Wonderful artwork made in France, of course. Visit »woltJef«, very nice scribbles.
Nice photografic impressions of »Chez Joelle«.
Last, but definitely not least is »Casa Jordi«. I really dived into his collages.

Designers Open 2007
Home, Design, Leipzig 23rd Oct 2007 // 01:27 pm

Designers Open

The Fast Life visits Discobelle
Home, Music, Word 22nd Oct 2007 // 06:28 pm

The Fast Life visits Discobelle

The Fast Life moved into the guestroom of a swedish blog-house for one night. You can enjoy a mix of different mp3-stuff (singles and mixes) i received from Niklas, member of music-blog Discobelle to write the first guest-column »We got mail«. Read it here.

Just a quick-info: I did some blog-improvements. The Navigate-Category on the left side is now called »Intern«. It fits better to the Thefastlife-own stuff, that is inside. Furthermore the »Friends«-Part is deleted, but a »Radio« -Link is inside, where you can load all past radioshows, that i found. Maybe you could be so kind and can help finding lost shows (or deleted ones on zshare). Last today i putted the Linklist into the sidebar for better finding. Just scroll down a little.

Ericailcane

Via »Our bees make honey«, I spotted an US-graphic-drawing-mixture named »Jonathan Cammisa« sharing quite nice illustrations in the web with the audience.
He’s coming a little dark and scary, but that might be the reason why »ericailcane« quite quick came into my mind, also known as »eric the dog - Italian maestro of anything weird you can draw with a ballpoint pen«. Damn, what a looker!

Post Panic
Home, Design 22nd Oct 2007 // 02:57 am

Post Panic

Post Panic specialise in film, 2D/3D animation and motion graphics, producing and directing unique projects for the broadcast, advertising, music and retail industries.

Post Panic was founded in 1997 and are located in central Amsterdam, NL. They handle projects in total, from concept to final delivery, ensuring their creative ideas remain fresh and true throughout the whole productions process.

Enough of business-talking. PP seems to be a quite nice flash-homepage, with petite gimmicks if you take time. Let the popup leave a little behind and wait to see what happens. But primary it’s the movies that are flashing very much. 3dimensional great mirages and glamorous colors. My and Detail’s personal top 1 is via: Portfolio - Number 3 - Palm + Other World. The Reel is fabolous, too.

If you’re a (Graphic, Motion, 3d)designer or producer - they have freelance jobs to give-away.
